ACPI DSDT has actually two paths for changing backlight.
One is simple to understand and is using SMI Command Port B2, but only works
when booting with BIOS.
The other is quite complicated (for me acpi noob) and is using a ressource
called smbus-ddcblc.

While brasero continues to have some possibly confusing reporting on the
initial screen it now will actually go ahead burn a 4.7GB iso to a
dvd -r in 12.04, currently brasero (3.2.0-0ubuntu6) precise
So in that regard this bug can be considered fixed in 12.04

Then here is an iso of 4.3GB (4119 MiB), shown as iso size of 4.3GB,
free space as 4.7GB, which would obviously also be burned
So in any event no longer an issue, noting that once breasero starts the
burns it switches to MiB anyway

While I still think the top left box is a poor design, at least on
current unity it no longer causes the launcher to hide. The box is
offset to the right of the launcher now.
