bug 1620085, bug 1642813, bug 1089131, bug 1605939, and bug 1538333.
However now I'm fighting with some test failures that have creeped in
due to a change in gpg. Working on it.

That is strange, because with the full update I prepared for the FFe I
had not seen that. Please let me know if I should test or verify
something.

FWIW, the new EGL backend for Mir shouldn't suffer from this issue as it
respects the config selected by the app. Here's the PPA if someone wants
to try [1].

I had the exact same problem as described but I am using Arch Linux. I made a
simple uninstall with pacman -Rcsn. I know this isn't the same command for
ubuntu but just use apt-get autoremove and make sure to add the option that
also removes all configuration files. Some times some files are
