came close. (But what a price tag)
I have always used external speakers as well as put up with degraded hearing.
The K3 driving various speakers (non amplified) provides good audio levels for

KUSB (Prolific usb) driver installed in Windows xp pro with SP3

Power supply checks out normal as do the leads. The circuit breaker is in line

I beg to disagree. The computer controlling many diesel engines today produce
noise as do the electronic injectors etc.
Commercial vehicles may use split system style air condition

I removed the top covers and checked the TMP cables and repowered the radio.
Error message did not display.
Tuned down the band and there are soft pops occurring while tuning and. The
audio was blanked until it suddenly returned after trying to key the radio.

I think something that guys in the US perhaps don't appreciate is that
over in the UK, CB'rs don't have the same bad reputation as they

One of the things that makes getting the modulation up to snuff is to view the
output on a modulation monitor. I use an old Kenwood SM220 in the trap
position which allows me to adjust mike gain, carrier drive, ALC, etc until it
looks good into a dummy load. I do this on all voice mode

OK, we all agree they make a "Good" product in general and supply varying
levels of support etc etc
BUTdo they make a direct competitor to the K3?...me thinks not, the K3 is

I too would like to see what settings are being used for NR as I seem to get a
large decrease in Audio volume when NR is engaged.
I hope those having success with the new NR can enlighten the rest of us...:-)

Well, I tried again with RX Eq set flat and the NR functions as I always
imagined it should.
I will spend more time trying each setting and see if I can find a setting that
works well.
At this point it would appear as though my RX EQ settings were not compatible
with the NR as I had it set
Well the SSB folks lose out yet again on the latest FW revision. Just when the
next to useless NR was made to work we have yet another version that favours
one mode over others.
Rather disappointing result but that appears to be the way of the k3 world at
times.
