I had to put my Ellie down this morning. She was only 4 years old and
developed symptoms on Memorial Day and lasted only 4 days. A tumor in her
chest was leaking fluid and squeezing her lungs. I couldn't watch her suffer
any longer so I had her put down this morning. She was a little lov

I, too, freaked out when I found out my new kitty was positive. She lives in a
my household with 4 other cats and as far as I know, none of the others have
been infected. I do get each one of them (except for the + one) FeLV boosted
every year. She's now 4 years old and is a fun,

I'm way behind on my mail, but let me know how the tests turn out. It
sounds like Oreo was exposed, tested positive, and then fought off the
virus. If that is the case, then, NO, he won't get it again. Good luck!

just doesn't really happen that a
negative catches felv from a positive and tests positive and then tests
negative and would then 'catch' it again. I guess it could happen, but I
have never heard of anything like this.

Are you all saying that if my 5 kitties have been vaccinated and boostered
for FeLV (July 2006) that Ellie, my FeLV+ kitty, can join them now I
have her separated and planned to keep her separated from the others until I
get the results of her IFA on October 13. October 13 will be 120 days
nce everyone has been exposed to everyone else
already.
Glad to have you here, and glad your nightmare roommate is gone.

My cat, Oreo, also tested a light positive on ELISA and negative 1 month
later on IFA. Does this mean that he is definitely negative and can be with
my other cats who tested negative? I hope so because he's been with them
now for about 3 weeks. The others are vaccinated against FeLV.
