but where or how to I install jq so the quake-launcher the audio quake

When I go into the console and hit s to start quake, I have the shareware
version installed...It seems to play by itself in a sort of demo mode. I
don't have any control over what my character does. then after it plays it
just starts over, that is, the demo starts over again. How do I get g
