like to deny it, Carlos Dunlap was a force that wasn't there for the Alabama

I think that when the announcement was made there were a lot of emotions

Its worse that that.
Rumor is - when Meyer announced his retirement - a lot of the juniors were much more likely to leave and a lot of the recruits were less likely to arrive.
Would have been a HUGE drop off in talent.
