Nick, my comment in Masset this morning was that I was hearing a lot of 2nd
tier stations on primary channels. In other words, the primaries weren't
that strong, leaving things open for others. As I was in the tear down
mode (deconstructing 5 antennas), mostly in the dark, I didn't have a lot

Already, the year has started downhill, hi. No, not that bad, just not as
lively as yesterday. NHK2 off again at 1440UT today, so noted them, as carrier
strength was at least as good later.
pretty darn good audio (all of it understandable by a native speaker, at least
briefly):

I have a nemesis now.
According to the IRCA contest rules, I need to hear a call letter ID to count
it.
So for the last several tries at 6 PM local, I have heard the Spanish music
stop and then 5-10 seconds of dead air... which is where I assume the English
ID is

801 Kimchaek has been drifting in frequency for over a year. I assumed they
fixed that by now, but I guess not. It's sure as heck not the only one (MW and
SW) that is drunkenly wandering the dial in the DPRK. They used to have similar
issues with my local FMs in Haeju, but they obviously

Hi Guys:
Between Christmas Festivities and some Health Problems….not much DXing done
lately. But I do have a short report this week that includes 1 NEW Station.
Sunset Conditions on the 28th of December produced a few Stations under Auroral
Conditions.
Hopefully by next week I’ll be back
If I'm not mistaking, yes. Both original CBC's 690 and 940 used to share
the same transmitting site which was located in Brossard, south of
Montreal. Nowadays, both frequencies have been re-attributed and they
operate on different sites.
They both used to be blowtorches when located in
Some really nice catches there, Walt. Taiwan with French and English must have
been a thrill.
As for Japan 1663, see the Grayland 2009 report. I think I heard every single
one of the stations.

Re 153, if this were Romania, there should be 6 short evenly spaced time pips
at TOH. So far both this and Norway have eluded us at LBI.

*Latest DXpedition from Masset, BC 27 Decemmber 2018 to 2 January 2019*
Well, another DXpedition under the belt to my favourite DX cottage off
the north coast of British Columbia, Canada. Conditions for the most part
were very good, although I think I just caught the tail end of the superb

Sorry this a bit late. I listened yesterday from 1334 to 1425, with LSR at
1420. It was a fairly decent way to start the New Year. Happy New Year to all!
There was however a bit more splatter than usual.
