Luckily there are workarounds for this issue for both the old
situation(1) and systemd(2).
1) In the old situation (Trusty Tahr - upstart) I found the following remedy
that works like a charm:
Make a file with the following content (just the way I found in on the
internet) read further below
I am having the same problem as I have stated here,
`http://askubuntu.com/questions/615423/ethernet-connection-randomly-
disconnects-after-transmit-queue-0-timed-out`.
I tried to replace kernel with an older one, `3.2.0-83-generic` now the
ethernet connection is perfect.
Other kernels in which
4.2.8-040208ckt2-generic_4.2.8-040208ckt2.201603031453 has the bug.

@Pat: One important thing: Don't use hciconfig up anymore. Even if
its still there and works to some degree that will only initialize the
controller partly as its using an old kernel API. Use bluetoothctl only
to power on/off bluetooth:
$ bluetoothctl
[bluetooth]# power on

The network is set to n-g mixed, but I think it works on n judging by

Hi.
I have exactly the same problem but with a Lenovo Thinkpad T460s.
This is most likely acpi related as I can boot with acpi=off and the freeze
does not occur when I close the lid.
I also noticed that acpi=pm does not resolve the problem.
The bug also occurs during the cryptsetups
The acpi=pm in my last comment was a typo and should be acpi=ht.
