For the confirmation, I'd need guidance. Which source/mutter link to

Since writing the above report, by reflex more Ubuntu updates have been
accepted (there have been very many this week - perhaps four or five) -
new dpkg.log attached.

I'm seeing similar , possibly related failures on Bionic linux-aws,
4.15.0-1040.42,
I'm going to start consolidating this bug to track these failures on the
various clouds.

With update 1.173.6 of linux-firmware (bionic-updates) a new firmware file was
installed :
/lib/firmware/brcm/brcmfmac4366c-pcie.bin
Package revision 1.173 does not have the 4366c file (it only has the 4366b
file).
Under 16.04 the ASUS PCE-AC88 was wrongly loading a 4366b f

Same issue with HP EliteDesk 705 G2 MINI
Turned off all power saving options in BIOS.
Currently running 18.04 HWE EDGE (Linux 5.0.0-15-generic) compiled with:
CONFIG_TIGON3=m
CONFIG_TIGON3_HWMON=y
Tempted to turn off HWMON.
