I currently use use version 1.4.12 under Windows

I am considering upgrading to later 1.5.xxx version
through compilation in Windows.
However, I am not a software programmer and I

Am I the only one who finds that ly2dvi ignores the

directive and produces A4 output in all cases?
Unless I use psresize, I get clipping of the tops

gives an identical display when changed to A4, but

Thanks, that fixed everything. How weird; I know the case was correct
when I sent the initial email. Can't figure out how the capital T got
changed. Anyway... thanks for your patient assistance.

HI,
If I hooked up a music keyboard to my computer, would lilypond be able to
write the notes I play on sheetmusic for me to print out? If so, how does
that work?
Thanks Alot,

No, but maybe you have done it, it should be called TupletBracket
and the name is case sensitive. A complete version
Dear LilyPond,
I am typesetting Grieg's Opus 46 and instead of
traditional Pedals, he used a rhythm bar because of
the complexity and unusual rhythms. Is there any way
to have a PianoStaff (treble and bass) with a rhythm
staff below?
Thanks for your help,

Dear Gentlemen,
Alas, a correction using "number-visibility" elicits this error message:
warning: Not a grob name, 'tupletBracket'.
Has the grob also been renamed?

It seems that some benign developer has renamed the property
to number-visibility without even documenting the change in
the ChangeLog and without including the change in convert-ly
or the example file input/regression/triplets.ly.
Likewise, the tuplet-bracket-visibility property has been renamed
Dear colleagues,
I'm running Lily version 1.5.58. I cannot seem to get rid of the little
"3's" under each triplet beam in this excerpt:
\property Voice.tupletSpannerDuration = #(make-moment 1 8)
\property Voice.TupletBracket \set #'tuplet-number-visibility = ##f

Hi,
Here comes a set of files which I hope can be useful.
Note that I have updated the lilypond source code
slightly to correspond to the current version and
look better. Since I almost never use texinfo myself,
I didn't really manage to process your example file

Hi, I need help formatting the Free Software Song

code) to fit into Texinfo @smallbook format. Below is a sample texinfo
page you could use. If you think that you could just format it so it
looks good, the ps file can be found

You have an A3 printer ?? Cool!

Hi again!
Just a note to say that in the INSTALL.txt for 1.5.9 it says that RPMs are
available for Mandrake at:
rmpfind.net/linux/Mandrake/cooker/contrib/RPMS/
This is not true. There is no cooker directory in Mandrake and I looked
around a bit and couldn't find Lilypond in the other directorie

Hi all
Here I am again with a question. A while ago I gave up on trying to build
lilypond and used an RPM for 1.4.2,
But since lilypond is improving so rapidly I decided to try to compile
again, so, on my Mandrake 8.2 box, I tried to built lilypond-1.5.9. This
time I got past the guile and gcc

Well, sorry, it depends on the setting for extra-mem-top, but none of
the other settings.

As explained in an earlier answer, you should use
To find out which texmf.cnf file is actually used, run

The variables to increase are extra_mem_top, extra_mem_bot
and pool_size. Actually, the ly2dvi script sets these variables
as environment variables which overrides the settings in the
texmf.cnf file, so as long as you use
