Yes I was almost all over it until I saw what they did to the interior. If it
was cheap enough I guess a person could put the proper seat covers on.

I've got Barum (Contis)on the CLK350 and the E300D. So far so good. We will
see how they do through a 7th level of hell hot summer. Plus, haven't
driven in rain yet either. They are cheap. Not noisy.
SWMBO did mention the tire pressure light did come in on her way to work
this morning and she got

Yes. I have done well with them. I have had them on our '82 240D/3.0 and
our '89 Chevrolet Beauville
Used for the win. You could change them several times per year and still
come out ahead. People switch tires for all manner of silly reasons. Most
shops selling them stand behind them. They recycle the rest into concrete
and basketball and playground surfaces.

There's quite an industry around here selling used tires on Craigslist. You
search by your tire size and get a bunch of returns.
To be honest, I have been tempted a couple of times, as I have seen some really
nice high end tires with minimal wear going pretty cheap, like under $200 for a
set
Many hundreds.

Anyone have need for a never-used early 124 spare? This is from Wilton's
300D, and it does not have even a hint of use, looks brand new. Has a
Pirelli tire mounted, but I suspect it is about 29 years old and so the
tire is NOT road-worthy. Even has what look like original MB wheel weights.
Well they don't have go form in the size I need for my 210. How many miles have
you out on them now?

I may be off by an hour or two, but certainly don't recall it taking 20 hours.
I believe Jaime just did one and he had a similar experience.

The FAA just released NE-11-56R2 that says certain blends of Jet-A and
Biodiesel (and other stocks) are approved for turbine aircraft.

Well, you're a better mechanic than I am then. The first one I did by the
book, and it took two 10 hour days. 1970 220D.

Right ... so ... find a cheap cheap W115 because the heater fan stopped
working.
Let Chuck Norris go in through the speaker vent ...
Then get back a W115 with working heater fan, but completely destroyed from
all the kicking.
Step 4) Profit?

I take exception to this, as I've done the heater blower on a W114 and it was
nowhere near 20 hours, more like 10, and that was with the stock AC.

It's the heater fan - - approx. 20 hrs to replace by the book, 10-12 hours
the modified Norris method (through the speaker hole).

Rusty used to sell a front suspension kit, do it all at once for several hundred bucks and then you're done with it for another 20 years. I'd think the handling would get very scary before it wore enough to come apart catastrophically. If you plan to keep it for the rest of your life, starmarked

Michael,
There is a risk that the ball joint will completely fail, at which point
you rapidly transition from a driver into a passenger, and Bad Things
happen when that wheel comes off.
In your shoes, I would get that joint replaced ASAP. I had one get
questionable, I had squeaking going on
I think the issue was that generally Clay would "fix" something on Gump,
and then fall back on his Indie to "un-fix" and properly "repair" Gump? ;)

I thought it was just the heater core on the W115s that cause all the
