Just watched the launch via webcast - exciting! Thanks, Rob, for sharing
the info. Reminds me of some old days in Florida, at the Eastern, the
Atlantic coast. This one is going into a 97 deg inclination retrograde orbit,
right? Hope to see it visually some time in the future on a clear night..
Yeah, thanks Rob... that was pretty cool to watch!
I got to see one a couple years ago from just east of Vandenberg.
The rumble you feel in person is pretty awesome!

Yes, pretty cool! Well, then again I have to correct myself: 97 deg inclination
is sun-synchronous, and not really retrograde, so we may spot it visually

I saw the launch from the top of one of the tall buildings at JPL. It was cool.

Hi Listers,
One of the small things in life, but something that brings big pleasure is to

Hello All,
There is a metal detecting show on the National Geographic Channel (NGC)
tonight at 9:00 PM EST where the guys are at Glorieta, NM hunting for a
'variety' of treasures. the show is called, Diggers. It will be
interesting to see if they find any meteorites!!
Best Regards,
Greg
Hi Greg,
Thanks for the heads-up. I am going to check that out.
I will make a prediction. They will find a smallish specimen (maybe
about 100g), which they will claim is worth one million dollars. A
graphic of $1,000,000 will be plastered on the screen along with a
KA-CHING sound.
Every
Oh Yeah,
They will find a lot of slag, hematite,. etc that they will call
meteorites!
And it will all be on Ebay next week.
It's TV where reality does not count. Remember the Pickers episode?

I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with both the guys from
Diggers, they're a couple of good dudes. Remember everything you see
on TV is produced (usually over produced), so how they come off on the
show is like a caffeinated version of the real people. If they find a
meteorite they're
Yep, Glorieta will be the next area permanently off limits. These guys on
Diggers are an embarrassment to the treasure hunting community. Treasure
hunting club members that I stay in touch with cringe every episode knowing
that these guys violate the rules and are ruining it for everybody
Hi Mike and List,
What I said was not meant to be a personal bash on the Digger Dudes.
They might be the nicest guys in the world.
Reality TV is shameless and there is very little reality in any of
it. It's well established now that many reality shows are entirely
scripted. Or, if not 100%
All of these shows are fake, every last one of them, down to Pawn Stars and
treasure hunting shows. We dug up and sold a pallasite for well over $500,000
and guess what, it wasn't on any show, know why? Because it was real, not
scripted and not staged so it wasn't on TV.
Sure as hell beat
Hi List,
This is the very first time I have watched the Diggers show.
How can I say this diplomatically?.. those guys are ANNOYING.
Good God, that was painful to watch. This is 30 minutes of my life
that I can never get back. LOL.
I have some roundness nectar in my pock. (*sigh*)

Hi Bulletin Watchers,

These guys are horrible
They don't even possess proper etiquette.
They dig plugs instead of flaps or hinges. Plugs of grass die and leave hidden
holes for children, adults and animals to break their ankles in later on. They
seem more concerned with themselves than others.
They do not use
Adam and list,
Far be it from me to defend anything on tv, but I do know (first hand,
from the Diggers themselves) that they do not keep anything they
find, it all goes to the land owners, and that their goofy terms have
roots in the DVDs these guys originally made years ago and are used
solely
Jesus Christ, this show is horrible, I cant even believe that the Nat Geo
channel has sunk so low.
Yeah, a crushed thimble worth $15! Good luck on getting a nickel out of
anything these morons find. It is sad to see these reality shows sink so low.

I think ya'll have unrealistic expectations about what a show like
this should entail. It's primary purpose is entertainment, and it's
primary audience is NOT hardcore relic hunters or detectorists. I
invite you to create a pilot and pitch a show about metal detecting
Entertainment for what? 6 year olds? The nectar sector juice zone, not sure
we should talk about names.
This show is not of the level I would expect from National Geographic.
Sorry but I am not interested in reality tv. It is a waste of time worse than
any video game or meteorite hunt.
