Central Park NYC Bird Walk - North End on Friday October 10th

We saw eight species of wood warblers:
Black-and-white Warbler - 3
Common Yellowthroat - 10+
American Redstart - 3 or 4 including an adult male
Magnolia Warbler
Black-throated Blue Warbler - males & females
Palm Warbler - at least 4
Yellow-rumped Warbler
Black-throated Green Warbler - adult male bathing in the Loch

A Common Raven circled over the Grassy Knoll eliciting yawns from the Brits on the walk.

Also:
Gadwall - fewer than last week - Meer
Northern Shoveler - more than 20 - Meer
Ruby-throated Hummingbird - Conservatory Garden
American Kestrel - one or two
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker - not as many as last week
Northern Flicker - many
Eastern Phoebe - 6 mostly at the Great Hill
Blue-headed Vireo
Red-eyed Vireo
White-breasted Nuthatch
Brown Creeper
House Wren
Winter Wren
Golden-crowned Kinglet - several
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - more than 20 - stopped counting
Swainson's Thrush
Hermit Thrush
Wood Thrush
Gray Catbird - many
Brown Thrasher
Northern Mockingbird
Cedar Waxwing - small flock at Fort Clinton
Eastern Towhee
Chipping Sparrow
Song Sparrow - lots
Swamp Swamp
Indigo Bunting
Purple Finch - adult male and young male feeding on seeds of Beggar's Ticks on the north side of the Loch

& other common birds.

After the walk I saw a Black-billed Cuckoo at the Wildflower Meadow.
