your idea is good, but its better you have a function that remove inserts,
if any inserts failed.
if you have mysql comiled under bsd or your mysql like immoDB your can take
this with "ROLLBACK"
function. if your mysql isn't comiled like this, you must rollback over a

One thing you can try is setting the cookie twice.. with and without the
secure setting.
Your code will pick up the nonsecure in the nonsecure area and function
fine.. just as your code will pick up the secure in the secure area and
