There are lots of quality bootloader tools here. Also, lots of custom ROMs.
Beware virus and spyware, only use ROMs the community vouches for, from

Does anyone know of a way to unlock the bootloader of an android device
if the manufacturer has locked it and won't supply a code to unlock it?
Where would be a good place to look?

I don't have experience with Mint, but I do with Ubuntu, years ago.
If mint uses DPKG, I think you can use the command:
dpkg -i "URLtoYourDEBfile.deb"
wget will get the file, but won't install it.
Thanks,
Alexander.

If I'm having this problem and you are, then others are also. I read a

I checked my old phone. This feature worked on it. Now it doesn't. I
just had the bad luck to notice it soon after a new release came out.

google drive but that leaves a border.

The screen is not locked when I've tried this. KDE connect does allow
me to send data to the computer. Until this is fixed, I'll just use
sftp to send data to the desktop. If it's a lot of data, I'll shut off
the phone and put its SD card in the computer.

Not locked like carrier lock, I mean locked like in sleep, without a pin.
You just need to wake it up, pin unlock the phone, as that tends to lock
storage. I've noticed other things (like airdroid) won't allow connection
if it locks.

Do you mean the partitions can't be accessed as long as the phone is
locked to one carrier? Stephen, I checked remote filesystem browser in
settings on the desktop, and it's enabled. On the phone kde connect has
storage permissions and all other permissions I can give it. (contacts,
