IMVU's downloadable client is built atop CPython. 80% of our users use 32-bit
Windows and 20% use 64-bit Windows. We do not intend to provide 64-bit builds
of our application for many of the same reasons sketched out in

Here's a start on converting to bytes everywhere for cookies. I'm not sure I
fully understand the library's original worldview on type conversion. There's a
value_{decode,encode} facility, and in the test suite attribute values in
particular are often not even

In Python v3.9+ there was a regression in the amount of used memory for
list-literals, due to switching to using list_extend() to allocate memory for
the new list to accomodate the literal elements.
