Thanks to everyone who replied. I reinstalled my crankset yesterday and noticed the tight clearance, which looks exactly like Horace's. I guess it's always been that way. I had the crankset off while Phil Wood Co were rebuilding my PW bottom bracket. After being in the bike for three
