Tuscaloosa's Hillcrest High School was frankly loaded this year, and

Under a blistering August sun, the Tide went through its final scrimmage
of fall camp. Afterwards, Head Coach Mike Shula was reasonably pleased with
his team's effort.
We started slow; I guess we were a bit lethargic, Shula said. But we
came on there at the end.
Some things just don't come easily. But in the end, Le'Ron McClain got
what he'd been waiting for. After receiving word Friday afternoon that he
had been passed by the NCAA Clearinghouse, the stellar fullback was dressed
in Alabama gear and participating in practice.
It feels great to be out
There was a sense of accomplishment, almost jubilation, among Alabama
football players and coaches following the second scrimmage of the
pre-season on Saturday.
The Tide worked for a little over two hours and afterwards almost everyone
was talking about the performance of the offense.
The University of Alabama football squad practiced for approximately one
hour and twenty minutes on Friday on the hottest day yet of fall football
camp. The team is preparing for a long scrimmage Saturday at Bryant-Denny
Stadium.
