Hmm. Maybe if I had the same animation, but started it at -1 -.8 -.6 etc
it would work. Dunno if I can a stop though...

Another method might be to use an animated filter, probably using
feColourMatrix. I use a filter like this to cause things to change colour in
my web comic to show that something will happen (usually displaying a speach
bubble) when you mouse over them. However this only works in ASV3 and
