I had the same question. In all of the years I've worked with Java I've
always thought it was free of memory leaks. If you use a different
compiler does the problem go away. Is that how people like JRun
(Macromedia) and WebSphere (IBM) avoid the problem?

answer in the archive.
I'm using tomcat 4.0.2 with jdk1.4.0_01 on a redhat linix. In the tomcat
configuration I set the JAVA_OPTS -Xms***m -Xmx***m. In the server.xml I
left only the http connector with only 1 min- an

for additional processing? (Apparently it is possible with Microsoft
IIS and its Isapi interface.)
I've been searching for an answer to my question and haven't been able

I've installed tomcat4.0 and a simple website used for testing
authentication (JNDI Realm). I have the following problem. The
authentication (against LDAP) works fine. I'm redirected to the index.htm

I also use some taglib to query a database (mysql) and then show the result
in html back.
It occasionally crash, I don't know the reason too. So, let's figure the
reason out !
