Public bug reported:
It seems that there is a memory leak in the libnl-genl-3.0 library.
The memory-leak can be seen when the function genl_ctrl_resolve() fails.
It seems that this function copy a buffer and forget to deallocate it properly:
258 cb = nl_cb_clone(orig); // buffer copied

And it works now. Looks like some network problem that is not handled
properly to warn the user.

I installed apport 2.14.1-0ubuntu3.24 on Ubuntu GNOME 14.04. After
adding the GNOME3 PPA, I got the PPA notice when I ran ubuntu-bug gnome-

I installed apport 2.20.1-0ubunt
I can also confirm that the latest version fixes the bug on Ubuntu

Of course. I listed this as something that could be considered for the
openntpd/ntpd case, not for a sysadmin. T

Hi Kevin,
I quickly checked in the default config in zesty but ssh logins are working
fine (pw logins is what I tested).
There must be more to your config that triggers this.
Is what you see in dmesg an apparmor denial or something else?
Could you attach your dmesg covering the issue that you see
