This is to be exspected behaviour, because it is possible to have
multiple Skype accounts, like private/business and run them
simoultaneously on one machine. A good reason not to upgrade in a haste,
even though there is a workaround.

That's because you probably do not have the same problems like I described in
my starting post.
Removing the nvidia driver already helped others who had the same problem. All

liblber-2.4.so.2, i think the liblber-2.4.so.2 is corrupt, it works

Playing a bit with it, I realized that the issue is actually related to
using a .Xmodmap file. When I remove it from $HOME the issue is gone but
it comes back as soon as I create a new .Xmodmap (which is important for
me to get catalan characters in a us keyboard).

I had more than enough reasons to mark this as a security bug. It was
what I saw to be its potential for intrusion and exploitation. I'm
positive if you only considered any given bug's security status
according to their confirmed "evidence" of enabling users for attacks
you'd be missing on the most
