However, some of the machines (identical in hardware to those freezing)

Well gdm it, if they repeated the process they would have exactly the info they
need. It crashes on more than one system if you try to switch to guest while
logged into another user and then back. It does it ever so often, so if it
fails once, try it again. That should be enough info.

real mode binaries.
You might be able to workarround this by using the chainloader mode to
bootstrap into another capable bootloader, and then launching memtest86
from the secondary loader. The .iso image form of memtest86(+)
I was having so much trouble with graphics that the dash was no longer
functional. That was why I tried gnome. I was still having graphics
problems in gnome-shell, but it was usable except for the 100% cpu
problem. Unfortunately, after I did the killall gnome-shell and then

With 20120905.2 I actually see this working just fine, but I suspect
it's being affected by bug #1045491 giving the impression that it
doesn't work. If I hover the mouse over one of the arrow controls on
the slideshow long enough, it will quit giving me the blinking busy icon
and give me a pointer
