I upgraded to v4.6-rc4-wily (amd64) but unfortunately ran into bug
152808 which meant I lost wireless so I had to revert to
3.13.0-32-generic (amd64).

The issue started a day after I upgraded the packages on my system, and
has been captured by syslog 38 times since then. There wasn't a new
kernel installed at the time, but something triggered the building of a
new initrd.img. I'm going to upload the dpkg.log that outlines what

prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
