Just happened for me on Lucid when closing Opera 10.10 but has happened
in the past with other qt apps (although those occasions were on Karmic)

AFAIK, Ubuntu tasks aren't meant to be marked 'fix committed' unless the
fix is in an Ubuntu repo somewhere pending upload, which was not the
case here. But I've grabbed the change from upstream revision 672, and
this will be uploaded soon anyway.

I use Ubuntu Jaunty (alpha3) with latest updates. In general,
gnome-settings-daemon crashes when I press hotkey button at laptop for switch
to second monitor; after log out or xserver restart gnome-settings-daemon works
well, but after first crash and for now Menu->Log Out/Shut Down dia
