A workaround of putting a line "options psmouse proto=exps" in
/etc/modprobe.d/psmouse.conf seems to work for me.
Therefore the bug is in the psmouse kernel driver detection code? Or that it's
"correctly" detected but the resulting protocol has a bug compared to what the
hw actually uses.

With todays updates in lucid (xorg, nvidia-current, mesa, etc), wine1.2 no
longer works with GL apps, it seems.
(I also tried wine git master as of 10 minutes ago)

Yes it is fixed. Though I hope that old user that used the old way to
indent should be notify the new way. The new way is just highlight and
press tab/shift+tab , while the old way was crtl + t / ctrl + shift +
t
