The issue is that the upstart cups configuration file tells it to start
only when the filesystem, dbus, and avahi-daemon are started. And
avahi-daemon is not included in the Lubuntu 13.04 that the LiveCD
installs by default. See /etc/init/cups.conf .

After using the laptop without the second external monitor yesterday,
today it suddenly worked again with both external monitors!
If I look at the xrandr-output, I see the monitor connected over an

Continues to be a problem under 13.04. Running Xubuntu.
(Looked into using xkb, but oddly while it offers the option I desire,
to set capslock as an extra escape, it does not appear that it offers
the option to set escape as an extra capslock; at least, not that I

eCryptfs and encfs are two very different things. There's no way that
encfs is triggering a flush-ecryptfs- process.
Do you have your home directory mounted with eCryptfs? To check, log in
and then open the /proc/mounts file to see if /home/$USER is mounted as
an eCryptfs mount.

i`m not really sure what config file you meant so i sent a few...
the /etc/vfstpd was deleted once i sucessfuly removed the vfstpd package
so i only have it`s main config file... sorry :/

Stan, just an FYI, in case you haven't read any of the previous posts.
The Pentium-M supports PAE just fine, it just lies about not having it.
Not sure what your 13 year old IBM uses however. My IBM is 9 years old
(doing the math on that surprises me immensely, not realizing it was
that old
