UPDATE: I just got a reply on another list from someone who installed
Linux on, as they said, basically the same computer I'm using. So this
was the gist of it: NO graphical installer will work, definitely not
Ubuntu 16.04 (and I'm assuming that includes Xubuntu). Arch Linux will,
but not unless

Anyhow, here's a thought. Do you have a pc keyboard around somewhere? I'm
thinking if you plug that in a long with the mac keyboard you might be able
