I've recently been wishing that it were possible to supply a working MinGW
build of Python so that various utilities implemented in Python (e.g.,
nativesdk-glib-2.0-codegen) could be included in SDK's built with
meta-mingw.
There are some directions [1] that claim to provide sufficient patches to
Alan,
You asked for advice, so here I go. Might not be what you need/want but we
will see.

Thanks Ross, I tried the bbappend solution and it works indeed (but it's
PTEST_ENABLED, with the final "D")!
In a local.conf:
PTEST_ENABLE_pn-apparmor = "0"
(the overrides are prefixed with pn-)
In a bbappend just PTEST_ENABLE="0" will work.

Hi there!
the apparmor recipe from the meta-security layer fails to build in
rocko due to an error when building the tests; I tried updating to the
latest apparmor version, just to find out that the tests fail to build
in some other place (the tests include sys/io.h -- which package should
ship t
Great, that's quite clean.
Opting for that, thanks Ross.

Fair enough, I gave an example with a simple workaround. :)
But you do have a point there, if I'm getting you answer right on a broader
level.
Is it something like this?

Thanks Ross
this is what more or less what I'm doing.
What I haven't found a way to do from python is making modifications from
the initialized build directory.
I'd like to do that to change things in conf/local.conf.
For example generate DISTRO_VERSION from git describe --tags
That is something

Hi,
am just in the process of forming a base for automated nightly builds.
The goal is to have the build process run every night and report what
the status was.
I've opted for python for all the conditionals and checks and then have
external
bash scripts that actually sets the environment and in
