Techno, Electro, Acid, Trance and a few Housey bits by Cal Finlow, Kino i, Kenny Larkin, XDB, Vince Watson, Donato Dozzy and Steve Moore to name but a few You can listen to it here and leave a comment if you liked it or need a track ID. If you didnt enjoy it, I'm sure something else on Soundcloud which you can listen to. :) The mix can be found here - https://soundcloud.com/kemal187/placid_88-mix-for-berceuse-heroique As with every single of my mixes, it was done in one hit, on 2 Technics 1210's frantically searching for the next record. Classics not Classics 'Holy Grails'
It's not very often I have all my rare chicago 12's and a spare 100 minutes these days.. however, the planets aligned last night and the result is a 100 minute mix.. My classics not classics series came about when a friend asked me to put my old, less known chicago stuff into a mix. As much as we loved them..we were bored by the same old chicago tunes appearing in all the mixes and compilations..so i tried to make people aware of a whole load of lesser known tracks by lesser known artists I went on to do 6 volumes they're getting on a bit now..and only 192 kbps so I thought id put all my favourite ones in one mix. Fastforward 10 years..and the advent of the Discogs bubble.. and the availability of every track known to man on Youtube the not of 'lesser known' as they were..but they are still great tracks. You can listen and/or download it here - https://soundcloud.com/placid_88/grails Artsits - Joe R Lewis Marcus Mixx DA Posse John Jaquarius Jody Finch Melodious Myles Disco D Armando Mystic All done in one hit on two 1210's.

you got your hands on the Reel by Real lp yet Jason.. sounds pretty coool... The A side has a long and dubby (no suprise there!) mix by Johannes Volk - it's a bit Dubby Techno by numbers but it grows on repeated listening. Much more interesting is the XDB mix on the other side - kind of reminds me of Iz and Diz at their best or a spacey Prescription Underground sort of thing. Best mix for me is actually the Patrice Scott Beatless Dub - lots of building atmospherics and pulsing bass lines with no regular kick drum - really well done (only a few mins long though) Anyone else got anything to listen too? I'm searching around our warehouse at the moment looking for the Shake Shaagan Electro remix - will stick it on when I find it! (313) The Techno Monster Mix
Essentially records which I have but have not yet managed to put into a mix as they are either too fast or too bonkers or a combination of both. Naturally, my idea of bonkers and yours may vary, but I can only go by my own bonkers induced reality and upload the result. not strictly 313 but i do mention that I have omitted Reel by Reel so it is valid on a technicality thought some of you guys might like it anyway.. Mojuba Record Label Best described as deep dubby house with occasional forays into deep techno and a smattering of tech house on sublabels a.r.t.less and Wandering. with a roster of Sven Weisemann, Nick Sole, (label owner Don Williams, Oracy and Stereociti, as well as a few one offs by Chez Damier, Bernard Badie, Marty Bonds and Tyree on Mojuba it is one of the few labels that i own nearly every release of... Thought I'd stick my favourite releases on one mix so here it is…. You can download it here - http://www.acid-house.net/Placid_Mojuba.mp3 I will post a tracklist over the weekend.. following on from my Berlin mix i thought I'd play some dubby technoey bits from Detroit …mainly consisting of Steven Hitchell, Rod Modell, Mike Huckaby and Octal Industries, it offers, for me, a more refined sound than Berlin, but just as effective, huge expanses of sound, delays and reverb and basslines, NB: - This is best heard on a system with bonus oomph. anyway enough rambling. here's the tracklist CV313 - Seconds to Forever - Echospace DeepChord – hr-01 - Hierophant Imax - 3am - Octal Model 500 - Starlight [Soultek's Falling Stars Mix] - Echospace Convextion - Miranda (Echospace Remixes) - Matrix DeepChord - DC13 - Deep Chord CV - Movement - Octal Mike Huckaby - My Life With the Wave - SYNTH Deepchord - DC12 - Deep Chord Octal Industries - Automatik - Transistor Rhythm Claude Vonstroke - Who's Afraid Of Detroit? (313) The Dub Techno Sound of Berlin
Pioneered by Berlin Duo Moritz Von Oswald and Mark Ernusutus, and for me, still unparalleled, the sound of what became pigeonholed as Dub Techno has taken many twists and turns since the fist Maurizio 12's. Some of it bland, some of it extremely good.. Unfortunately I had Deepchord down as just imitating Maurizio for years and neglected to buy any of their records when they came out, hence their aren't any of their original 12's on this mix as they all cost a fortune to get hold of now….. anyway… Here's a 2 hour mix of my currrent favourite DT, of which some emanates from Berlin and some doesn't and some might be inspired Mr Von Oswald and Mr Ernestus or may not be and could, if you like pigeonholing music, be called Dub Techno. Thought I'd throw together some of my favourite Deutsche 303 pieces. Listening back, it appears as if most of my german acid consists of early / mid 90's stuff, although i didn't use a lot of it by any means on this mix, apart from Hawtin, Synewave and Woody Mcbride from the US it was down to the Germans and the dutch (this is another mix i have planned) to take the 303 even further… Click here to listen http://www.acid-house.net/Placid_303DE.mp3 If you are of the persuasion that you have to know what the tracks are and what order they come in at, there is a tracklist here http://www.acid-house.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2t=841 Done in one hit on 2 x 1210's (hence a few light scratches and the odd jump here and there) approx 290mb @ 320kbps Forthcoming gigs 29Oct - Plex w/ BH808303 / Mike Huckaby 30 Oct - I ♥ Acid - Radioactive Man Live set
