just for an idea what is on the records. there is a track from 009a on live at the liquid room(1994). also, the subject 001 dj bone mix cd has a track from 009b. one of the tracks from 009a sounds like jerical(spelling?) from waveform vol. 1. they are total collector's items. i'd get another copy of each if i found them. my thoughts exactly.. From: Matthew L. Thompson [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 313@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: [313] Real audio 2 CDR(was online mix track id) Date: Mon, 7 May 2001 16:35:13 -0500 If you can locate the URL that links you directly to the .ra file itself, you can type the location into your web browser and download it onto your hard drive (unless of course, it is cgi-based, as someone properly pointed out... you could try it anyway to see if it works though). Downloading the .ram file (metafile) does no good, as this file simply tells the web browser to launch your realmedia player and then points the player to the actual location of the .ra file itself. You can download the .ram file (right click as save as) and then open it with Notepad, that will tell you the location of the .ra file itself. As far as burning it to CD, you'd have to convert the .ra file to .wav format... either the old fashioned analog way (speaker output to cassette deck or mini-disc or whatever, then back to the computer's hard drive via line input) or use a program like ra2wav that will do it digitally for you. Re: [313] taking off labels
not to take anything away from any of the techno artists. but most of them are techno snobs. it is an aquired attitude of detroit performers. sucks 'cause the best techno is heard here. but you can't see what the f^$ they are playing. Re: [313] taking off labels
if some crazy thing happens, and i become a superstar dj one day. i am going to put my own labels on my records and write all the info on them in huge print so everyone can see what the hell it is. i mean, even if you ask a dj what record that he/she was playing (which is so rude, but so is making all of your records white labels. not to mention anal as hell) 90% of the time they never tell you. one of the downfalls of techno, TECHNO SNOBS. From: darw_n [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: .: Caltrop :. [EMAIL PROTECTED], 313@hyperreal.org Subject: Re: [313] taking off labels Date: Sat, 10 Mar 2001 18:04:54 -0500 In cleveland, you some idiots who do things like blank off The Bells or Live Wire, as if it was some hidden super secret squirrel track... Or some DnB DJ's black out Virus Records, LOL!!! Personally, I say who cares, I mix it one way, another DJ mixes it another way, that's what makes it unique. Another thing, so many people think I'll be real popular if I'm the only DJ with this record, and I'll beat anyone down who tries to spot it. How retarded is that?? Does anyone really think promoters book on how rare a DJ's record collection is?? Nope... Hell, we booked Doc Scott for one of our events at the end of march, and on the flier, we put dropping the freshest dub-plates, we don't care about that, we just care if the DJ is skilled or not... hmmm, I guess its a trend from the old hip hop days, so I respect it, I just think its kinda silly... darw_n create, demonstrate, toneshift... http://www.thedemonstration.com http://www.sphereproductions.com http://www.mannequinodd.com search djdarwin on napster - Original Message - From: .: Caltrop :.
