This is what I have to say about formats and different medium. Should it matter what medium one is pushing the frequencies from as long as the frequencies are getting pushed? I was and am for the most part a wax man, but wax is heavy to lug around. Yes it is nice to see a DJ get down with the wax, but for the most part I have yet to see a DJ get down and funky with the wax like the wizard did in the day or the scratch jocks of the past. Most DJ sets I have checked out over the last decade have been no different then a laptop set, someone just sitting behind a couple of decks plopping a slab of plastic down on the platter and smoking cigarettes trying to look cool.. So, should it matter what medium the frequencies are pushed from ? I personally don't think so as long as the frequencies are getting pushed. I think there is too much pressure on getting as much shoved into the pages as possible - more bang for your buck. I've personally never been drawn to XLR8R magazine. but that's just me. Same here. IMHO, I think music interviews are hard to win with. How many times can you ask (or read) 'so how did you get into electronic music' I'd like to see more politically or socially motivated questions from journalists-seeing as most artists are influenced from social/political situations. This would be nice. I myself have for the most part been influenced by tonality and frequencies when it came to my artistic push. Social and political situations has it's place in the influence factor as we are all a product of our environment. It is not about the artist, it's what the artist is pushing that counts to me. I find that people get to hung up in the trend of who an artist is rather then then the content the artist push. I would like to know way a artist chose that color or sound rather then what he/she has to make it with or what do you think is happening to music.. Provoking emotion with the use of frequencies. If you can fell your sphincter coming out your mouth because the low-end frequency is pushing so hard on you as you loose your breath, think of that emotion . Ummm brings me peace However, it's not usually what the readers what to read-instead they'd prefer gear questions. I still think a DJ needs to do an HONEST diary of what happens on the road. Gimme the wild times. This is true.. D ps.Transcribing interviews is a b*tch too, unless you have that futuristic stuff that does it for you. Software HB underground static www.vmax.net

The down side to this is that with such tax breaks add no tax revenue to pay for thing that need to get payed for like school, fire services, police services, road work, etc. The corruption is so thick in Detroit that the money the city does have gets spent in way's that do not help out the common folk. Like the mayor need to spend millions on cars and protection, or does he? ;) In my time in detroit I found the biggest problem Detroit has is apathy. Not much will change if the apathy stays so thick..

Re: (313) iPod DJ
There was time that the dj was in a room and the tunes came over the air waves and we did not see the dj, we just liked what he/she was playing or not. When I was old enough to get in the clubs many moons ago, it was about trying to pick somebody up and hearing some good tracks as you go f**ck up. I also remember most of the dj where behind a glass walls or in some sort of both and were cut off from the audience. Maybe that was so the dj and light person could snort there coke and smoke weed. Then the 90's came around and it change for good or bad that is all subjective. Some go to se a person play records. Some go to hear music and other go just to have a good time. Frequencies provoke emotion and how the frequency are pushed should not matter so much as long as the frequency are getting pushed. Also back in the day and not so much now dj's had a MC to help out with the crowd interaction and get pep's all pump-up. I indeed did think you where ripping on my words, sorry if i mistaken what was meant. I am not opposed to thinking, I do a lot of it. I think that is part of the problem in the U.S. market when it comes to electronic music. Much of the music has no words and with no words and story to go with the frequencies it makes pep's think to much and most do not want to think they just want to live in a world of blaaa.. I mean you work all day on the lines and at the end of it all that last thing most would want to do is think, you get enough of that on the line.. 0% go's in to every day living.. Re: (313) save me, I think I'm going over to the darkside...
In short - this record is an embarrassment, and they should retire. It just may be the royalty statements are no longer coming in and the money has run out. We all have bills to pay.. Now Tones on Tail, Section 25, [ Cerent 23- spelling may be off on this one ] had some sound worth talking about. All of them had 80's dance club hits.. [Warning: Extreme biases present.] I'm one of the biggest JD freaks in the world, from Day One. (How many geezers do you know who bought FAC 2 - A Factory Sampler when it was brand-new back in 1978? Martin? :) ) As far as I'm concerned, JD was The Greatest Band To Ever Walk The Face Of The Earth, bar none. No other band comes close, for me. So, for me, it's pretty hard to listen to New Order (or watch 'em, like on the DVDs) without this bias kicking in. (Especially when I see Atmosphere on a DVD and later on they play World In Motion - my God, what utter cack. How could the same 3 people have played on both of those tracks?!?) Anyway, erm ... right, the new album. Utter rubbish. You can't hear Bernard's vocals as noise when the lyrics are so utterly pedestrian (Ian was a tough act to follow, but nowadays, Barney's stuff is just plain embarrassing). And the music is mostly Rock-by-the-numbers, too. There's even a bloody Reggae-sounding track - and, what's scary, it's one of the better tracks on it. It's just so ... so lackluster, so dull, so uninteresting musically. The funny thing is, I was just listening to Adult.'s Anxiety Always the other day, and a few tracks made me stop and think how well sonically they do the 80's New Order sound in places ... In short - this record is an embarrassment, and they should retire. You have no idea how hard it is for me to say that - but they should. - Greg the old jaded Post-Punk geezer
