You can cost some spammers a little money by clicking on this link, and then going to the spammers sites (advertising on GoTo is charged on a click-through basis): http://www.goto.com/d/search/?Keywords=bulk+email - Original Message - From: Nick Walsh [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 313@hyperreal.org Sent: Tuesday, May 15, 2001 9:18 AM Subject: [313] spam [OT] Hi 313er's, I am getting so much spam these days, I wonder if any of you guys know what I can do about it other than change my email address and disassociate myself from every list, bbs and message board I've ever been involved with... I never reply to them, or click remove or unsubscribe, I send a copy of it to their domain admin... but I reckon I must be on one of those 1 million mugs you can sell anything to cd-rom's... Is there a better way of telling them to f*** off? Help please, Nick:) Do You Yahoo!? Re: [313] spam [OT]
Start unsubbing from everything, never enter your proper email address for anything (either that or start a hotmail junk account so that the scripts can actually process your email address, make sure you look at the hotmail account once every couple of weeks otherwise it will be deleted.) If you fill out a survey don't enter your address or anythign else that can somehow link it back to you (remember if they have your name and address chances are they can find your email addy too.) Sending copies to domain admins usually elicits no response or annoyance, they made it so you could unsub for a reason, don't bug them with that stuff. Hope all this helps todd - Original Message - From: Nick Walsh [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: 313@hyperreal.org Sent: Tuesday, May 15, 2001 6:18 AM Subject: [313] spam [OT] Hi 313er's, I am getting so much spam these days, I wonder if any of you guys know what I can do about it other than change my email address and disassociate myself from every list, bbs and message board I've ever been involved with... Re: [313] spam [OT]
When I said domain admins, I meant forwarding the msg to [EMAIL PROTECTED] if they're using a yahoo addy to send these messages. I didn't mean getting back to the suckers... In fact they actually edit the headers so that it only LOOKS like it's come from yahoo but there're ways to stop them... I dunno how but I know you can do it...
