Re: 4D crash on macOS Sierra 10.12.4
I think it’s helpful for folks to report the hardware they’re running on when evaluating 4D on Sierra as well. Some are saying “no problem,” and indeed I have no (major) problem on older hardware with Sierra 10.12.2 or 10.12.3. But on the new MacBooks with the touch bar, 4D crashes on launch, every time. I’ve tried several 4D versions, although not 16. Install Yosemite or El Capitan in a Parallels VM on the same hardware, no problem. It’s the combination of the touch bar Macbooks and Sierra that seems to lead to the issues. Re: Sierra 10.12.2 4D crash on new touch bar macbook pro - possible solution
I've been unable to use 4D v13 in Client mode at all under OS X 10.12.2 with the new MacBook Pro. Either it crashes when trying to enter the password (just clicking into the password field), or trying to open windows in the app on the odd occasions when I can get in. And I can't use the Touch Bar at all, even as function keys, in v15. I tried the commands below and they seemed promising at first, but still crashing. I miss my 17" MBP a lot right now. I think Armin said that by executing those commands in terminal, he was able to work around the crashed AND have the touch bar active.
