Re: Quick Report toolbar widget
Dear Jim, I seem to be stuck very similar to your situation. We are storing templates in blobs and lets the user select a template, edit, modify, run and store back to blob. No disk documents and the 32 bit plugin area is enough. I see the lack of menus and interface of the new 64 bit subform. I also miss style sheets from the toolbars. Did you succeed in using the source of the components? Was it complicated? And of course after I sent the email I remembered the 4D forum exists, and found a reference to the 4D internal components source downloads. Seems like that should give me what I need. Quick Report toolbar widget
The new 64-bit 4D Write includes toolbar widgets to replace the functionality built-in to the old 32-bit 4D Write. I’m adding an interface to store quick reports in the database for tracking and reuse, so I’m trying to work with the %report subform. However, this does not include the control toolbar. This has its uses, but I need to be able to allow the user to create or edit quick reports as well. It seems like 4D must already have that toolbar as a widget internally, Anyone know if that can be accessed with some undocumented magic? This is on v17 64-bit. I might be able to use WR ON COMMAND to get the report data from the built-in quick report editor, but if I could just use the built-in editor’s toolbar as a widget that would be much cleaner.
