Thanks Pat,

However I believe my colleague has tried this and the result was not pretty,
so it is not a solution that would be acceptable to us at this moment.

+1 for exporting 4D Write Pro documents to MS Word (aka Office Open XML
format). Maybe this could be worth feature request?
Here it is: http://forums.4d.com/Post//20813501/1/
Please vote for it.

Re: 4D Write Pro - WP EXPORT DOCUMENT to WORD?

2017-09-17 Thread Pat Bensky via 4D_Tech
This is a good question Jim and one that I am also interested in. Have you
asked about it on the beta forum?
Here's a possible solution for now:
- Save the WritePro object as a PDF (using SET PRINT OPTION)
- Open the PDF in Acrobat
- Save that as a Word document

I did this manually and it worked well, except that it doesn't preserve all
your stylesheets, headers and footers, although it does quite intelligently
apply styles like Heading 1, Body text, etc. So maybe not good enough for
your needs. I imagine it could be automated with LEP.

I suppose answering from a digest breaks the chain.

Why I wonder does the list often mix thread messages such as here?

The thread was started by me with a subject about 4D Write Pro. However we
find another totally different subject matter within it?

This is not the first time I have seen this.

Any clues as to why this happens?
