Re: Web App on iPhone - Returns gobblydygook
What is the purpose of the "Vary" header? Usage seems incorrect here, especially since nothing should be cached. Wonder if that can mess up content negotiation somehow. See the link below for details about the Vary header. https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2017/11/understanding-vary-header/ John DeSoi, Ph.D. > On May 16, 2018, at 12:10 PM, Randy Engle via 4D_Tech <4d_tech@lists.4d.com> > wrote: > > Got any ideas? ** 4D Internet Users Group (4D iNUG) FAQ: http://lists.4d.com/faqnug.html Archive: http://lists.4d.com/archives.html Options: https://lists.4d.com/mailman/options/4d_tech Unsub: mailto:4d_tech-unsubscr...@lists.4d.com **

(I bet this is it) Third is it specific to iPhones on Verizon (doubtful)? I agree the first part is the header suggesting the page gets downloaded. It just doesn't get interpreted correctly. That's happening on the phone and because of something specific to those devices. Web App on iPhone - Returns gobblydygook
We have an web app (not an app, browser based). We’ve had a 2 users who are using iPhones (not all, just a couple), that upon submission of a form, they get return some unfriendly info on their iPhone screen. The first section is what looks like the http header Then after that is just a bunch of characters. Works fine on my iPhone. Here’s a screen shot of this: http://www.xc2software.com/bugz/iPhone_gobbldygook.jpg Has anyone seen this behavior? Got any ideas? Gracious thanks!
