I will be on 433.550 from ~8am. You can use that frequency to check in on
your way to the Uni and to discuss cake.

Because I'm morally opposed to doing anything on time, this has no set
day yet, but I can 100% guarantee it will be on either Saturday or
 Sunday.

If we can fill some seats in my motor, I am up for this on Sat with
Aberdeen. My preferred Aberdeen dep/arr times would be around
9am/6-7pm. (2 hrs travel time to Burghead)

We will likely leave from Aberdeen university at 9ish, getting
there about 11ish, setting up and radioing for a few hours and then
having dinner or something and coming back down the road later.

I thiink at this point the free spaces in my car are now booked, but
if you would like to come play, post up here and we'll try to get
another car involved so that 4 can come!

I have my Corsa and (assuming it won't ruin anyones party) will aim to
1) explore WSPR to the US with a Raspberry PI and a wire to see if
that crazy shit is actually real; and/or 2) pickup up some more
weather sat images (3x 10 minute passes at 12noon, 1340 and 1500).

The latter can happen anywhere o/c but I thought it might be fun to
hack up a simple DIY APT antenna [2] with minimal tools and stuff I
can find in situ.

Thats 2-3 spaces if anyone needs a lift there and back. I guess it
would help with fuel also.

Cheers,
Ed

I'll gladly come along.
I got a new dipole center and three wire sets for it that I have not yet
had the chance for to tune up or try out.

In which of the cars would I be able to get a seat (and some equipment
space I suppose)? I'm thinking of brining my HF radio, battery, tuner, wires,
tent pegs, rope. And for comfort possibly a folding chair and a thermos
filled with tea. The magnetic loop and laptop don't need to come along.

If you want to improve your NOAA signal reception Ed, feel free to take the
tapemeasure yagi that's in the space on the trip.

Derecho.
