Re: [abcusers] A question about beams
From: Alasdair McAndrew [EMAIL PROTECTED] Suppose I have the following: K:HP M:2/2 L:1/8 defg Then there will be a single beam joining all notes, with an extra beam between the e and the f. But what I would like, rather than this extra beam, is an extra flag on the e pointing backwards, and an extra flag on the f pointing forwards. Is this possible with abc/abcm2ps? I don't know, but on ABC2win, if you put a space between the e and the f, you'll get what you want. Did you try that? Re: [abcusers] (..) means?
From: I. Oppenheim [EMAIL PROTECTED] M:4/4 2e2 e3f|e2(G2 G2)Bc| What's the meaning of the parentheses when there is no number? It doesn't seem to be a shortcut for (2 - or is it? Play 2 in the time of 2? g Parentheses without a number are used to slur notes. But the notes are the same! My abc2win program printed them as tied, but that is strange because a half note could have been used instead of two tied quarter notes! (I think it also sounds better if both notes are played, not held, but that's another matter.) Dottie B To subscribe/unsubscribe, point your browser to: http://www.tullochgorm.com/lists.html
Re: [abcusers] (..) means?
From: I. Oppenheim [EMAIL PROTECTED] If you sight-read music in 4/4, it's easier to follow the music if the note that falls on the third beat is always notated separately. Good point! Dottie B abc2win user :-) To subscribe/unsubscribe, point your browser to: http://www.tullochgorm.com/lists.html
[abcusers] Tune Finder question
John, in your tune finder, are all the tunes present in all the formats? When I'm looking for a tune, I'll click on one of the ABC's at random. Sometimes I get the tune, and sometimes I get a notice that the file is empty. Dottie B To subscribe/unsubscribe, point your browser to: http://www.tullochgorm.com/lists.html
Re: [abcusers] Awful quiet...
From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] I have recently noticed that I stopped receiving the abc list (I'm subscribed to the digest) about two months ago. I last posted in early March, and looking at the archives, posts from mid March look unfamiliar, so it must have been around then. I tried to resubscribe at the web site, but it tells me I'm already subscribed. Anybody have any ideas as to how I can start getting the digest again? Sometimes AOL blacklists internet lists from particular sites. Call AOL and tell them you want mail from this group white listed. Depending on who you talk to, they may or may not do anything.
