Re: [AI] Urgent help needed regarding iPhone 3GS
Hi Subramani, I also tried using say text with my IPhone 3gs but never get it to click automatically. I am using the following instructions: Place the phone in about the middle of the page and lift it slowly up until the entire page is in focus and the program will automatically click a picture of the page. This never seems to happen in my case. There is also the option of clicking manually. When I do a manual click, I inevitably shake the phone and the picture comes out blurred and the OCR is not really clean. Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong? Are you using the same steps? -- If the answer to these is RTFM, then please say so because I haven't really read through any manual yet for this. Also, if it does work for you, approximately how far is your phone from the page (full sized A4) when the picture is clicked? As for your questions on Voice over, Kiran has already answered those in the thread below -- except that based on the say text website, this program should work with 3gs as well and not just with IPhone 4. -Manish -Original Message- From: accessindia-boun...@accessindia.org.in [mailto:accessindia-boun...@accessindia.org.in] On Behalf Of Subramani L Sent: Friday, July 02, 2010 5:28 PM To: accessindia@accessindia.org.in Subject: Re: [AI] Urgent help needed regarding iPhone 3GS Hey all: Good news is that I have just tested Say Text in iPhone 3Gs. It works perfectly well. I need some practicve with the touch screen; otherwise the app works pretty well. Even the accuracy of the text is quite good. I was told that iPhone 3GS with 16 GB space should cost somewhere in the region of 23 to 25 thousand. iPhone 3Gs with 32 GB space costs Rs 40,000. So, just forget about. 2. iPhone 3GS is also available in India and it has VoiceOver and Zoom functionality. VoiceOver is a full-fledged screen reader and provides access to most of the built-in apps and third-party apps. It does not provide limited access. 3. As far as I am aware, SayText may only work with the new iPhone 4 and not with any other models. I may be wrong but I don't thing the camera on the 3GS and 3G is sufficient for OCR. [AI] hearty congratulations to mr. karan singhania
hello, if you remember some time back i have posted the message that one of our list member mr. karan singhania has secured 92.4% in his 12th standard from cbse board. now, in continuance of his success, he has been able to get admission in one of the top most colege for commerce in our country i.e. sriram colege of commerce situated in new delhi. so i do express my hearty congratulations for his yet another great success. to reward his great success, i would like to express my feelings with following few lines: MAY YOU ALWAYS FEEL LOVED May you find serenity and tranquility in a world You may not always understand. May the pain you have known and conflict you have experienced Give you the strength to walk through life Facing each new situation with courage and optimism. Always know that there are those whose love and understanding Will always be there, even when you feel most alone. May you discover enough goodness in others To believe in a world of peace. May a kind word, a reassuring touch, a warm smile be yours Every day of your life, And may you give these gifts as well as receive them. Remember the sunshine when the storm seems unending. Teach love to those who know hate, And let that love embrace you as you go into the world. May the teaching of those you admire become part of you, So that you may call upon them. Remember, those whose lives you have touched And who have touched yours are always a part of you, Even if the encounters were less than you would have wished. It is the content of the encounter that is more important than it's form. May you not become too concerned with material matters, But instead place immeasurable value on the goodness in your heart. Find time in each day to see the beauty and love in the world around you. Realize that each person has limitless abilities, But each of us is different in our own way. What you may feel you lack in one regard May be more than compensated for in another. What you feel you lack in the present May become one of your strengths in the future. May you see your future as one filled with promise and possibility. Learn to view everything as a worthwhile experience. May you find enough inner strength to determine your own worth by yourself, And not be dependent on another’s judgment of your accomplishments. May you always feel loved. [AI] Safely remove pen drive
Dear List members, Given below is an extract from an earlier email from AI. Hope you find it useful. Regards VS If you often use removable USB devices like a flash drive, you are probably already familiar with the ?Safely Remove Hardware? icon that sits in the system tray. The problem for many people is that the icon is tiny, and clicking it just right to bring up the menu is a pain. Can?t we just make a shortcut to bring up the dialog? Of course you can, and it?s really quite easy. Easier than trying to click the tiny icon in the tray, at least? Update: This has been successfully tested on Windows 7 as well. Create a Shortcut to the Safely Remove Hardware Dialog Right-click anywhere on the desktop and choose New \ Shortcut: Then paste in the following into the location box: block quote RunDll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll block quote end Give it a name, and you?ll have a shortcut icon? ?that will pull up the Safely Remove Hardware dialog. Assign a Shortcut Key If you want to assign a shortcut key to this dialog, you can right-click the icon and open the properties dialog, then go to the Shortcut tab. Add in the shortcut key and close the dialog. As long as the shortcut is on your desktop you shouldn?t have to restart anything for the hotkey to work. You can also move the shortcut to another folder, for instance your quick launch bar. Tip: If you add the shortcut to the Windows Vista quick launch bar, you can use the built-in hotkeys instead of bothering to assign one manually. Re: [AI] Timing of incoming mails.
Hi Mukesh, I tested sending an email to myself and experienced the same behavior as mentioned in my previous email. Try sending tesstt emails to self at different timings and let me know the sent/receive timings. Maybem that helps figure out the cause of such a weird behavior. Best Regards, Zujar... Re: [AI] excel protection
here is the solution, i tried. 1. open new worksheet. 2. select all by pressing ctrl+a. 3. press ctrl+1, and go to protection tab. uncheck the box lock cell. press ok to confirm your action. 4. finish your entire working with excel sheet. 5. go to those particular cells which you want to protect and lock them individually, as unlocked earlier in point no.3. 6. open the toolsprotectprotect worksheet. if you don't want to give password, leave the password blank. leave the next check box in checked status. press tab, now you will land on list box. in this list use up and down arrow keys to move through check boxes. the first check box lock cells and the second check box unlock cells should be checked. press ok to confirm your action. you all done. please take note that once a sheet is protected, user is allowed only to jump in to the unlocked cells. even a screen reader user can not access locked cells. but, sighted user can see it on screen. i tried these settings with office xp and 2003. i don't use office 2007, because i am able to open office 2007 files with office xp. let me know the result, please. - Original Message - From: Kamal Verma kamalve...@pnb.co.in To: accessindia@accessindia.org.in Sent: Saturday, July 03, 2010 1:35 PM Subject: [AI] excel protection Hai everyone, In Excel, I need to protect only a single cell. [AI] demat account for someone who uses thumbprint
Hi, I have been told by ICICI that I can not open an online trading account with them. Because I use thumbprint for legal and financial transactions. They have also mentioned that SEBI has not given any specific instructions on how to open a demat account for a visually challenged person. I am already having a salary account with ICICI. I believe RBI has now allowed to open a demat account of a person who uses thumbprint instead of signature. Is anyone here having online trading account and uses thumbprint? Hi Raju, Yes, NVDA can be used to surf the internet. To view links and Headings in a list box, use Insert + F7, it's called Elements list box. Once you revoke the elements list, it has three tab sheets; links, headings and ARIA land marks. You can switch between them using Tab and then left and arrow keys, alternatively, use Alt + H for headings and Ald + D for ARIA land marks. Feel free to contact me for any additional help.
