Re: [AI] transfering sms from old mmc to new mmc

2011-07-19 Thread jaison bellarmine
Hai friend,
Do the following.
Make a back up of messages using the PC Suit. for this go to the menu
in the pc suit, enter on Back up, then check messages and uncheck all
the other items and click back up to PC. Then remove the old MMC and
Insert The new MMC. Back up the phone memory using the tool in the
phone. Then go to message settings and select storage option as memory
card. Now restore the message back up using the PCSuit. while
restoring make sure that you restore the same back up which you
created for this purpose. To be clear give a particular name for the
back up rather than automatically generated name so that you are not
confused by the older back ups which you may have made earlier.
JAWS is not much supporting in PC Suit. NVDA is supporting well. Or
look for sighted help.
with regards
Jaison Bellarmine.

Re: [AI] Todays public speak download link

2011-07-19 Thread Asudani, Rajesh
Public speak programme anchor feels that draft is for amendments to PWD act,
though mercifully, minister is aware it is for the new law.
Callers were predominantly visually challenged and talked primarily about
various issues faced, rather than actual draft of new law.
Even minister was not aware about provisions suggested in new law about issues
raised and kept on assuring about best intentions of the government.
Now, minister has charted the course ahead as presentation of draft before
central coordination committee under existing PWD act, consultations with
various state governments, and vetting by various ministries, which gives
confidence to me about my proposed half a decade from establishing of
committee, maybe, plus or minus a couple of years!!

Issues raised included:
Non implementation of existing provisions, preference to low vision and
candidates having residual sight in jobs rather than blind candidates,
Muddled-up status of handicapped coach in railways, prohibition on blind
candidates for teachers' posts in Gujarat, Scribe problem particularly sixty
percentage requirement, Demand for single certificate to prove disability being
valid for all schemes/facilities, etc.
To a question about denial of banking facilities like loans by banks, minister
referred aspirant to National handicapped finance board.

On the whole, level of discussion was mediocre to say the least.

Something is better than nothing

Now engineering college for visually challenged too

 Hyderabad:
In a novel initiative that will help visually challenged students, the
city-based 'Devnar Foundation for the Blind' is planning to start an
exclusive engineering college for the blind.

Despite being visually-impaired, many students are highly motivated to
pursue engineering courses and there are several success stories, A
Saibaba Goud, Devnar Foundation's Managing Trustee, commented.

Some of our children are highly motivated to follow engineering courses.
One of our students is studying engineering at Massachusetts Institute of
Technology(MIT), Boston. All of them have motivated more children, who are

asking for engineering courses, he added.

The visually-challenged children are often denied admission in polytechnic

and engineering colleges, but many of them have managed to get admissions
after taking legal recourse, Goud further added..

Though the courts have given permission for the entrance test and
subsequent admission, the competent university authorities were not
convinced in the beginning and the problem still continues, he said.

This has made us think of starting a separate engineering college for the

 visually challenged, he said.

Givining details about the method of teaching, Goud said the students will

be taught engineering with the help of modern technology and software.

He added that the school has got TGT pro-software, which can print
graphics or maps for the benefit of the visually challenged. The ability
to use the systems effectively raises the confidence level of the students

 to a great extent.

Computer science and Information Technology courses are planned to be
offered in the proposed special engineering college.

In order to start this venture, the Foundation requires two acres of land
on long lease within Hyderabad city, thats why, a request has been made to

 the state government.

Two acres of land on long lease within city (is our requirement) because
it will be convenient for the students and staff. As this is a voluntary
organisation, we get a number of voluntary teachers and other volunteers
from the city. This is our main requirement, he said.

The Foundation plans to start the college in 2012-13, provided the land
becomes available and the donors are ready to make the contribution for
 the construction.

The Devnar Foundation was started in 1991 with just four students. The
school now has over 350 students.

 Hi all,

FM Gold, the radio channel of All India Radio, tonight at 9:30 in its
weekly phone in programme called 'Public Speak' would discuss about the
draft of the new disability law. The 30 minute show can be heard on
Doordarshan DTH as well. This is a live show from Delhi, which as per an
AIR official, is also relayed by the other three FM Gold stations and few
 other channels of AIR.

Public speak programme anchor feels that draft is for amendments to PWD
act, though mercifully, minister is aware it is for the new law.
Callers were predominantly visually challenged and talked primarily about
various issues faced, rather than actual draft of new law.
Even minister was not aware about provisions suggested in new law about
issues raised and kept on assuring about best intentions of the
government.

Non implementation of existing provisions, preference to low vision and
candidates having residual sight in jobs rather than blind candidates,
Muddled-up status of handicapped coach in railways, prohibition on blind
candidates for teachers' posts in Gujarat, Scribe problem particularly
sixty percentage requirement, Demand for single certificate to prove
disability being valid for all schemes/facilities, etc.
To a question about denial of banking facilities like loans by banks,
minister referred aspirant to National handicapped finance board.

On the whole, level of discussion was mediocre to say the least.

Something is better than nothing

Re: [AI] transfering sms from old mmc to new mmc

Hi!
As per my knowledge, if the message storage is in memory card, then we can

Hai friend,
Do the following.

Coming to your question, please let me know if any college denies admission
into Science or Math in Bangalore or within Karnataka. I shall be happy to
visit the college and talk to them. Ensure that student has high level of
interest and willingness to work hard. It's our own responsibility to create

However, I am equally aware about the benefits of special colleges
  equipped

   if
the students study the same course, then it should not be a big issue.
   It

Once equipped with good education and with the help of technology, the
students will find their spaces in the outside world based on their
knowledge and talent. Also this special college would be able to focus
   on
forging alliances with potential employers showcasing the talent and
abilities of its students which no mainstream college would do.

Though, the ideal situation is to have an inclusive college with
all facilities for the VI. But let the final decision to study in a
  special
college or in a mainstream college remain with the student and his
  parents.
Forcing it on them would not be proper. Therefore, I welcome the new
  special
engineering college and hope the mainstream colleges would look at it
 as
  a
resource center from where they can learn and emulate the methodology
and equipment used to make engineering course accessible to the VI.

Re: [AI] Todays public speak download link

2011-07-19 Thread Asudani, Rajesh
Yes, BhavaniBhai, but the act should in the first place lay down binding
principles for policies on these and other matters.
Present draft does so but partially.
But minister had not apparently gone through draft submitted.

Public speak programme anchor feels that draft is for amendments to PWD
act, though mercifully, minister is aware it is for the new law.
Callers were predominantly visually challenged and talked primarily about
various issues faced, rather than actual draft of new law.
Even minister was not aware about provisions suggested in new law about
issues raised and kept on assuring about best intentions of the
 government.
Now, minister has charted the course ahead as presentation of draft
before central coordination committee under existing PWD act,
consultations with various state governments, and vetting by various
ministries, which gives confidence to me about my proposed half a
decade from establishing of committee, maybe, plus or minus a couple of
 years!!

 Issues raised included:
Non implementation of existing provisions, preference to low vision and
candidates having residual sight in jobs rather than blind candidates,
Muddled-up status of handicapped coach in railways, prohibition on blind
candidates for teachers' posts in Gujarat, Scribe problem particularly
sixty percentage requirement, Demand for single certificate to prove
disability being valid for all schemes/facilities, etc.
To a question about denial of banking facilities like loans by banks,
minister referred aspirant to National handicapped finance board.

On the whole, level of discussion was mediocre to say the least.

 Something is better than nothing
