Re: [AI] objection on commentary of Navjot Singh Siddhu in IPL on Satmax

2014-05-08 Thread avinash shahi
Glad to know people now object to derogatory disability usage.
All these people get away because disability is not legally one of the
grounds on which discrimination can take place. We need one more
category added in article 15(B) in Indian constitution.
In the meanwhile, you can shoot letter to Mr Sidhu. letters are read
but Mails aren't...

Dear friends,
I am listening commentary of IPL 2014 on satmax since its inception.

As you all aware, Navjot Singh Siddhu (one of the hindi commentator)
use words like andha, behra, goonga, langda, loola in connection
with insulting comparison.
Its very embarrasing for a handicap person while listening
commentary with his/her family members.

for instance: he yesterday said like,
andha kya jaane sone (gold) ka rang (colour or like that).
Not only it create embarrasment, but it also spreads very cheap
source of outlook among society towards all handicap persons.
Entertainment does not mean, whatever is coming in your mouth, you
will spit it out.

I notice one more thing, most of his lines of poems or so called
idioms are his own made (means not extracting from literature)

My opinion is that he should get legal notice from CCPD or some
court immediately so he should stop using categories of handicap
community in his cheap lines of poems or idioms.

There are so many other hindi commentators in IPL 2014 like, Ajay
Jadeja, Chetan Sharma, Wakar Yunus etc. who never use such cheap
language in their commentary.

If I am right, pls tell me the way by which he can get legal notice
immediately so that he can be stopped for using such cheap
comparison rest of IPl 2014.

Sandeep

block quote
Contrary to what she had read and heard, disability wasn't
debilitating. "In spite of my impairment, there was still a lot I
thought I could do. I felt like the same person inside," Shivani
writes. Divided into five sections (Rebirth, Discovering the Spirit,
Learning to Fly, Gaining Acceptance and Another Journey), the book
takes the reader through the events of her personal and professional
life, which had a common thread in Vikas, her companion of 10 years,
and later her husband.

[AI] For your kind information: Delhi University admission forms out on June 2

Delhi University admission forms out on June 2

Manash Pratim Gohain,
TNN | May 8, 2014, 02.53 AM IST

NEW DELHI: The process of admissions to 54,000 seats in Delhi
University's undergraduate courses will begin on June 2 with the
availability of centralized forms, while the first cutoff list across
65 colleges will be announced on June 24. The last date for
applications is June 16.

Announcing the schedule, including the dates for cutoffs, open house
and additional cutoffs, the university on Wednesday said the admission
policy introduced last year for the four-year-undergraduate programme
remains largely unchanged.

Among the changes this year, the university has done away with the
additional admission criteria allowed at the college level.

Making the process more inclusive, it has decided to allow vocational
students to apply for undergraduate courses. These students, however,
will be at a disadvantage as 10% of the maximum marks in each subject
will be deducted while calculating their best-of-four aggregate.

The university is also doing away entrance exams for Hindi
journalism, social work, Spanish, German, French and Italian.
Admissions to these undergraduate courses will be based on
best-of-four aggregates.

Despite speculation on a cap being introduced for the number of
colleges and courses open to each applicant, the university has
decided to stick with the old policy which puts no such restrictions.

Offline centralized admission forms, which will now cost Rs 70 for
SC/ST students and Rs 150 for others, can be procured and submitted
from June 2 to 16. Students can also apply online at lesser cost -- Rs
50 for SC/ST and Rs 100 for the rest. The forms will be available at
18 centres across Delhi, including five colleges each in north and
south Delhi, three each in west and east Delhi, and two in central
Delhi.

"There will be five cutoffs and in case seats remained vacant in any
of the courses in any category, there is provision for five more
cutoffs. The final cutoff -- the 10th list -- will be issued on July 21.
For the first five cutoffs, three days will be given, including the
day of announcement of the cutoff, for admissions and payment of fees.
In the subsequent five cutoffs, students will get two days," said J M
Khurana, DU's dean of students' welfare, announcing the schedule along
with joint dean, media coordinator, Malay Neerav.

Unlike last year, students will this year have to make a choice of
colleges along with courses this year while applying.

"There is not cap on the number of colleges or courses a student can
apply. Any student not selecting a particular course or college will
not be eligible for admission there even if the cutoff criteria is
met," said Neerav.

Re: [AI] objection on commentary of Navjot Singh Siddhu in IPL on Satmax

2014-05-08 Thread mahendra

Hi is there a way to send mail to them?
before we do anything, best way to write to them directly.
if there a mail id, please write to our group, then many of us can write.
best thing to do is aducate them to start with.
if it not helping, then only think of next action.

At 01:13 AM 5/9/2014, you wrote:

2014-05-08 Thread ishita kapoor
Thank you sir for posting this.
Even I also got hurt by listening that commentary.
There were another person with siddhu also there who barked badly
regarding blind.
I don’t remember his name, he may be gaurav kapoor or ayaz.
If they could have said about minority or sc people could have killed them.
But they insulted disable so no objection.
I am not in position to do anything so I attribute all uncultured
abuses to both of them.
Though I love to listen siddhu but this was to much.
I hope somebody will take action against both of them from this mailing list.

Subject: Regarding the details of camera for blind, its learning and
expenses of the devices
To: accessindia

hello all,
The camera for blind looks very interesting by knowing Mr. Bhavesh
taking the first shoot, I felt very happy. I have also visited the
official website of cameraforblind.org. but, it doesn’t contain any
details about the devices and its affordability. So, can anyone
please give the the details of the device, its expenses, usage and how
to buy it? Is the device affordable for all? Is there any small and
quick course to learn it soon?

Re: [AI] How to use my cousin's credit card in safest way?

2014-05-08 Thread Sunil Sangtani.
hi, though both the way are not comfortable to one or other, you can
do the following, eather change your password and give them the
account access, it wont take more then 5 minuts or get the card
details. in eather of case, the card details will be saved to your
account. you will have to manually delete it. though I've heard that
you can ask google to not remember the card info, but in my case, it
didn't happened. I made a purchase, and then manually deleted the
card info from my account, however, due to unknown reason, the
billing address remains there. it couldn't be deleted.

[AI] objection on commentary of Navjot Singh Siddhu in IPL on Satmax

2014-05-08 Thread sandeepgautam
Dear friends,
I am listening commentary of IPL 2014 on satmax since its inception.

As you all aware, Navjot Singh Siddhu (one of the hindi commentator) use words
like andha, behra, goonga, langda, loola in connection with insulting
comparison.
Its very embarrasing for a handicap person while listening commentary with
his/her family members.

for instance: he yesterday said like,
andha kya jaane sone (gold) ka rang (colour or like that).
Not only it create embarrasment, but it also spreads very cheap source of
outlook among society towards all handicap persons.
Entertainment does not mean, whatever is coming in your mouth, you will spit it
out.

I notice one more thing, most of his lines of poems or so called idioms are his
own made (means not extracting from literature)

My opinion is that he should get legal notice from CCPD or some court
immediately so he should stop using categories of handicap community in his
cheap lines of poems or idioms.

There are so many other hindi commentators in IPL 2014 like, Ajay Jadeja,
Chetan Sharma, Wakar Yunus etc. who never use such cheap language in their
commentary.

If I am right, pls tell me the way by which he can get legal notice immediately
so that he can be stopped for using such cheap comparison rest of IPl 2014.

Regards

Sandeep

Contrary to what she had read and heard, disability wasn't
debilitating. "In spite of my impairment, there was still a lot I
thought I could do. I felt like the same person inside," Shivani
writes. Divided into five sections (Rebirth, Discovering the Spirit,
Learning to Fly, Gaining Acceptance and Another Journey), the book
takes the reader through the events of her personal and professional
life, which had a common thread in Vikas, her companion of 10 years,
and later her husband.

way to perchase the app apart from directly debetting the amount from

[AI] FYI: Code of Professional Ethics and Delhi University By Suman Gupta

2014-05-08 Thread avinash shahi
Note: In the references section of this commentary, UGC circulars, and
DU 2010 notification published in India guzzette is mentioned and PDF
files can be easily downloaded.

Against the backdrop of the adoption of the University Grants
Commission's professional code of ethics for university/college
teachers by the Delhi University executive committee in March 2014,
this article explores how the code is interpreted and policed, and,
therefore, acted upon as a set of rules in an institution. It also
examines the implications of the UGC-recommended code for the
integrity of academic knowledge dissemination and the academic
profession.

Suman Gupta (suman.gu...@open.ac.uk) is with the English Department,
Department of Literature and Cultural History, The Open University,
United Kingdom.

The dissemination of academic knowledge at the higher education level
is necessarily structured according to governmental and institutional
strictures. However, the principles and rationales of such knowledge
are not conditional on governmental and institutional agendas - these
principles and rationales are very much wider, and are consistent in
all contexts where academic knowledge is cultivated. Such knowledge is
answerable to the peoples of the world, is in the international public
interest, and may well be compromised if curtailed by governmental and
institutional agendas. So, when new governmental and institutional
strictures are promulgated with an effect on the dissemination of
academic knowledge anywhere, it is of interest everywhere and needs to
be carefully examined to ascertain whether core academic principles
and rationales are thereby being compromised.

The University Grants Commission's (UGC) formulation of a professional
code of ethics for university/college teachers (1989),1 when Yash Pal
was the chairman, is thus of interest not just in India, but for
academia and the public internationally. Further, when this code is
adopted to the letter by the executive council of the Delhi University
(DU)2 in March 2014, that move is of interest not merely in that
institution, but more widely in India and internationally. This is
especially the case since the code in DU is effectively adopted as
coercively enforceable, contravention of which could lead to
punishment for teachers in DU colleges and faculties; ergo, it should
not be regarded as a code of good practice which encourages
self-regulation (a soft instrument of control), but as a set of rules
which can be enforced by threat of punishment (a hard instrument of
control). The mode of adoption of the code in DU sets a precedent for
a publicly-funded university's management of academic work in India
and more widely.

Two lines of enquiry arise from these considerations. First, it is
expedient now to explore the implications of the UGC-recommended code
for the integrity of academic knowledge dissemination and the academic
profession. Second, it is necessary to consider the implications of
DU's particular way of adopting that code.

Content of the UGC Code

By way of background, such a code was initially proposed by the All
India Federation of University and College Teachers' Organisations
(AIFUCTO) in 1976. In this regard the statement at the time
interestingly observed

The code should be broad enough to serve as the source of constant
reference for teachers themselves. Though its prescriptions may not be
legally enforceable, it should be morally binding on the teaching
community to follow the code.

And also,

The code should contain a section on the rights of the teachers
(quoted in Rao and Shantaram 1999: 3).

Evidently it was initially conceived as guidance for good practice,
with some concern for teachers' rights. The UGC thereafter set up a
14-member task force, with participants from AIFUCTO, to come up with
such a code, and it duly did formulate the code in question to be
adopted by the UGC in December 1988. This did not have an adequate
section on teachers' rights, but did have a preamble with a brief
statement:

Teachers should enjoy full civic and political rights of our
democratic country. Teachers have a right to adequate emoluments,
social position, just conditions of service, professional independence
and adequate social insurance.

Doubts about the pragmatics of implementing and regulating adherence
to the code meant that it was not taken up at the institutional level
till DU did so with such firmness 25 years after being adopted by the
UGC. In adopting the UGC code, DU deleted the preamble with the
statement of teachers' rights. Arguably, however, it is not just
pragmatics which calls for pause; the principles espoused in the
content of the code should also do so.

Such a code of professional ethics for higher education teachers,
particularly as a hard instrument of control within a publicly-funded
university, is extremely rare - I am not aware of any other current
example - and hence all the more noteworthy. Such codes are common in
various countries

Hi friends I will be perchasing eliquence for android from playstore using
my cousin's credit card. What's the way to use his credit card?
Quick solution came to my mind:
1. I will give my playstore gmail account and password to him to sign in
and then he will make the perchase using his credit card.
2. I will take the detail of his credit card and will use it.
But in both cases either of us may be uncumfirtable in sharing these
personal information. Whats the safest way to use another's credit card so
that none of us could feel uncumfirtable?

[AI] How to use my cousin's credit card in safest way?

2014-05-08 Thread Mohib Anwar Rafel
Hi friends I will be perchasing eliquence for android from playstore
using my cousin's credit card. What's the way to use his credit card?
Quick solution came to my mind:
1. I will give my playstore gmail account and password to him to sign
in and then he will make the perchase using his credit card.
2. I will take the detail of his credit card and will use it.
But in both cases either of us may be uncumfirtable in sharing these
personal information. Whats the safest way to use another's credit
card so that none of us could feel uncumfirtable?

Re: [AI] Need guidance on Ph D in Management and NET preparation

2014-05-08 Thread Vamshi. G
Hi,

I wrote the exam without any preparation. Since I worked as a
lecturer in management subjects, I was familiar with some topics. And
my PhD provided me lot of opportunity to get acquainted with research
methods. So, I can provide guidance as to what areas to prepare,
but not any material. But basics on subjects like financial
management, marketing management, HRM, statistics, etc. should be good
enough. Since the exam is entirely objective without any descriptive
part, a good reading of the concepts should be good enough.

[AI] good future with Commerce

2014-05-08 Thread ganesh reddy
Hellow friends recently a member of axesindia mailing list asked that
how will be the future if anyone takes Commerce group in class 11th.

commerce is a new subject at the 11TH class apart from up to the class 10TH.
persons who takes commerce at 11th class then they can take b.com at
the graduation easily.
commerce needs mind. means we have to think. it is a logical subject.
no stress is not require.
persons who qualifies their under graduation with B.com with 65% and
under graduation with BSE having 55% can directly write IPCC without
attending for CPT for CA.

after the 12th pass they can appear for CPT which is the entrence for
Charted accountent.
or
after the graduation they can do MBA in finance, it makes very easy.
and it has many more futures like C A, I C W A, CS, etc.
