espncricinfo has changed it's format of homepage now it is not good
to find scorecard same is with cricbuzz any other site if someone can
tell better than these sites. waiting for your reply.
also if someone can tell where we can listen australian broadcasting
corporation radio commentry because indian commentry these days is not
done from ground itself rather it is done by watching tv monitor. so
we can easily judge the desperation of our commentators. also some of
the commentators standard is not up to the mark. good commentators

hi,
I have not said nvda but said screen reader or its accessories its
addons. Nvda is not only screen reader in this world. No one guarantee
that the gesture and assigned key never coincide. I have clearly said
that it is not an eminent but high possibility. Capture the sense of
expression.
Regarding the google input, it violets one keypress one charactr
generation feature which is the best way for screen reader users. It
is inconvenient from announcement aspect. I have many other ground of
my view. That is why I had developed more than a dozen of typing
system including Kannada specially designed to screen reader users.
It is phonetic in character and free.

Invitation
Dear Friends,
It is with immense pleasure that, on behalf of the Equal Opportunity
Office, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, I invite you to
participate in the
National Conference on Access to Higher Education: Overcoming
Challenges Faced by Students Belonging to SCs, STs, OBCs Students
with Disabilities.
Background: Students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled
Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC) and those with disabilities
often encounter
a multitude of unique challenges in spaces of higher education,
independent of a further possibility of marginalization on the lines
of regional identities,
language, class, religion, gender, etc.
The proposed conference proposes to facilitate thought and discussion
on the impediments to equal opportunities for students, and to venture
further to
explore mechanisms for resolution of such challenges. The conference
shall aim to evaluate different models and strategies for promoting
equality in opportunities,
and serve as a platform for interaction between stakeholders to share
their perspectives, concerns and expertise.
Efforts towards ensuring non-discrimination in opportunities to
students have included action at the governmental level through
various laws, policies,
scholarships, schemes, etc.; at the institutional level to implement
institution specific policies; and also at an organizational/
individual level through
novel initiatives. The conference shall seek to build a constructive
debate for the convergence of members from across the spectrum of
stakeholders to
promote learning and cohesion in action.
It is envisaged that the conference program would inter alia comprise
of discussions on legislative and policy initiatives; students'
perspectives on challenges
in the academic sphere including difficulties encountered in hostels,
eating spaces, mobility across campuses, etc.; remedies available
including public
interest litigation for enforcement of legal rights; outcomes of
adopted approaches with a focus on knowledge sharing; evolution of
good practices; building
of stakeholder networks for collaboration and pooling of resources, etc.
This important academic event would provide an opportunity to bring
together scholars, experts and writers, enable intense interactions,
promote an exchange
of ideas and experiences, and foster fellowship. The conference shall
include invited lectures and symposia, panel discussions, free papers,
film screenings
as well as other oral and audio-visual presentations.
Thus, papers, symposia, panels and other presentations are invited on
various aspects of the conference theme and sub-themes. Guidelines for
the same are
enclosed.
It shall be our endeavor to extend local hospitality to the
participants. However, since complimentary accommodation at the JNU
Guest House is limited,
you are requested to register early.
We look forward to seeing you at the conference, and to your active
participation.

[AI] talkingatmindia.org - completed one year of service

2015-02-14 Thread Prashant Naik
Dear Friends,

Talking ATM India website http://talkingatmindia.org today completed one
year of service. This website was launched on 15 February 2014 by our
moderator Harish Kotian during Access India Convention at New Delhi. This
website is a voluntary effort by individuals who themselves are persons
with blindness and it is dedicated to our community.

Core objectives are to make available talking ATM locations in India as a
single repository with easy search, advocating with banks to make available
their talking ATM data in the public domain, spreading awareness and
putting efforts in boosting usage of talking ATMs.

Sharing few of the milestones in this one year’s journey:

•Today website’s database has almost 5000 locations of talking ATMs
spread across India from 8 banks.

•Free Android Mobile app ‘Talking ATM locator’ developed by Sagar
Sodah, our access India list member launched in November 2014. App’s
database is in sync with website’s DB.

•Few successful advocacy efforts are we got Citibank data published
on its corporate site, got list of talking ATMs from Bank of Baroda and
Corporation Bank and so on.

•Resources page added on the site has almost all important
circulars related to banking access, user manual, audio demos and more.

•Conducted survey on talking ATM usage in August 2014 with 60%
usage out of 100.

•Site has 2000+ unique visitors and more than 20,000 hits since its
launch.

•Awareness efforts through social media Facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/talkingatmindia since May 2014.

Talking ATM is one such great achievement and an excellent example of
technological solutions for persons with blindness as they can withdraw
cash independently with security and privacy. ATM in today’s world is a
very important facility for everyone and particularly for the disabled for
whom visiting the banks may be difficult. Talking ATM India’s goal is to
spread awareness, up-to-date information on locations and increase usage of
talking ATMs in India.

We are hoping to put up 10,000 talking ATM locations and newer version of
mobile app coming soon.

Appealing all to use talking ATM at least twice in a month.

Thanks to all for your support.

Warm Regards,

 Talking ATM India Team
