[AI] Blind graduate forum of india

2019-09-09 Thread Akash Gupta
Dear friends,

I have come to know about an event of BGFI. May we get audio or video
clips of that program?
Blind Graduate’s Forum of India (BGFI) makes a small attempt to
 express our heartfelt
gratitude towards the readers and writers, and as well felicitate our
young graduates through an annual event called “The Readers and
 Writers Day”.
Details of the event:
Date: Saturday, September 28th, 2019, Time: 3 pm to 6 pm
Venue: Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan basement hall, Jagannathrao
Bosale Marg, Nariman Point, Mumbai 400021 - opposite Mantralay.
The session will be addressed by a young and dynamic professional,
Ekinath Khedekar who will share his success story with you. He will
also talk to you about the many challenges that he had to overcome
proving to us that “disabilities create barriers but determination
 breaks them.”
We will also have Mr. Ajay Minocha, a young visually impaired finance
professional who will speak about various career options available for
visually impaired students in the finance field and how can the
students overcome the common accessibility challenges encountered
 while studying finance related courses.

[AI] Requesting help/ideas/contacts

2019-09-09 Thread anirudh rao
Hello access Indians out here.
I am Anirudh Rao from Karnataka.
I am an English M.A. graduate from the prestigious Alva’s Education
Foundation. Though I had expected some setbacks while in the last
semester before three months, I had never imagined that the
educational institutes would be narrow minded like this.
I want a lectureship in any college but when I apply for any college
here, I am politely refused though I meet all their criteria.. I am
asked questions like “how do you teach the students being a blind?”,
“why do you need a lecturing job”?, how do you use computers?, how do
you control the students in the classroom? Etc.
Though I answer positively and patiently, I am delayed for some time
and rejected politely.
To apply for the government universities, the minimum eligibility
would be to clear NET/SLET. I need some time to clear them and I can’t
clear those sitting at home.
It is very sad to be unemployed when all my friends are working.
Moreover, the unemployment and boredom has robbed me of my
intellectual fecundity.
How can I go about it?

[AI] BGFI's Readers and Writers Day In Mumbai

2019-09-09 Thread Blind Graduates' Forum of India
Dear All,

Greetings from Blind Graduates Forum Of India!
Our readers and writers are people who open up the printed world to us
leaving all their work aside. Writing an exam without a pen for a
sighted student, is as impossible for a blind student without a reader
and a writer! Hence taking this as an opportunity, Blind Graduate’s
Forum of India (BGFI) makes a small attempt to express our heartfelt
gratitude towards the readers and writers, and as well felicitate our
young graduates through an annual event called “The Readers and
Writers Day”.
Ajay Minocha, a young visually impaired finance
professional who will speak about various career options available for
visually impaired students in the finance field and how can the
students overcome the common accessibility challenges encountered
while studying finance related courses.
so if you have graduated this academic year, wait no more. Register
yourself and your reader/writer by calling or sending a WhatsApp
message on the following numbers:
Santosh Salian: 9892145699 or Shraddha Edke: 9920058292
Should you be aware of any new blind graduates who are not members of
the list, kindly provide information about them as well.
Note: it would be preferred if one graduate brings one reader and scribe along.
Our readers and writers are people who put aside their work and spare
time to read/write for us. We, therefore, feel honoured to take this
opportunity to thank all of them who have been there for our young
friends.
Looking forward to a wholehearted participation!
Regards
the BGFI team!
