Subject: [AI] We still could use Outlook Express

This is specially for Shri Amiyo and Prof. Syanekar.

Yes, you heard it correct, we could still use Outlook Express.

On sayeverything mailing list, Mr. Rajpal listed steps for using Outlook,
these same steps could be used to make Outlook Express work as it has been
doing for these many years. I just try to simplify things.

As we all know, Google has stopped support for what it says as less secure
apps without 2 step verification from this month. to use Outlook Express or any
mail client, we need to enable 2-step verification.

First let's understand that App passwords let you sign in to your Google
Account from apps on devices that don't support 2-Step Verification. You'll
only need to enter it once so you don't need to remember it.

When we use 2-Step Verification, some less secure apps or devices may be
blocked from accessing our Google Account. App Passwords are a way to let the
blocked app or device access our Google Account.

I asume 2-step verification is enabled.

  now, let's begin:

  click
  https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords

Here, we need to type our Gmail password for loging in.

We will find 2 lists on the page.

the first list is for selecting Apps like mail etc, from that list choose the
last option called other, hit enter and give name, here in our case, type
Outlook Express.

On next list, we need to select the device like Android, Windows phone,
Iphone, Windows PC etc, here, we will obviously choose windows PC from the list.

Now, we will find generate password button, press enter on it.

The 16 character password will be on our screen, copy it and save the
generated password in notepad for future reference if we need it again.

Now, we will open the App (Outlook Express in our case), go to accounts via
tools menu with ALT T, press A for accounts, select our gmail account and go to
its properties. Here, go to Servers tab and next to account name field, we will
find password field, type in or paste the just created 16 character app
password instead of our Gmail password. Hit OK, then hit close.

That's all, Outlook Express starts working again. I have used my same Gmail
account on 2 different PCs with the same App password created through steps
above.

We don't know what Google will do next to prevent even this, untill then,
let's continue with this utility most of us are very accustomed to.

  Regards

  Vande Mataram

Public Notice Inviting Comments on the draft National Policy for Persons
with Disabilities

The existing National Policy for Persons with Disabilities was adopted
in 2006. Since then, a number of developments has taken place in
disability sector which include signing of United Nations Convention on the
Rights of Person with Disabilities (UNCRPD) by India in October, 2007,
enactment of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 in line with
this Convention and adoption of National Education Policy 2020 which
promotes inclusive education.

2. Keeping in view the above development, a Committee was constituted under
Secretary, DEPwD and consisting of persons with disabilities &
their associations and other experts to review the existing National Policy
for Persons with Disabilities, 2006 and to suggest a new draft National
Policy for Persons with Disabilities.

3. The Committee constituted a Task Force under Joint Secretary, DEPwD to
draft a new National Policy for Persons with Disabilities for
its consideration. The Task Force submitted its recommendations with a
draft new National Policy for Persons with Disabilities to the Committee
on 12.10.2021. The Committee deliberated on the draft National
Policy suggested by the Task Force. Based on its deliberations and inputs
from the members, the Committee suggested a draft new National Policy for
Persons with Disabilities which could be placed for wider stakeholder
consultation.

4. The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities
hereby invites comments from the public on the Draft National Policy for
Persons with Disabilities as placed at Annexure by 9th July, 2022 (i.e.

[AI] Regaining access and confidence!

2022-06-13 Thread George Abraham
Forty-three-year-old Rajendra Dhuratakar is a resident of Akola district in
Maharashtra. When he was in Class IV, he was diagnosed with Retinitis
Pigmentosa, an eye condition that results in gradual sight loss. Though the
family went in shock, Rajendra continued to study hard and topped his
school. He later graduated with a degree in Agriculture but due to
significant vision deterioration, he had to give up on further studies.

Knowing little about rehabilitation training or skilling programs for
visually impaired people, Rajendra began pursuing government jobs under
reserved quota for persons with disabilities (PwDs). He switched several
jobs because he struggled to perform the tasks in the absence of accessible
tools or environment. He worked in the Maharashtra State Seeds Corporation,
as a Gram Sevak, as a Junior Research Assistant and so on.

A lot of government officials and departments continue to be ill informed
about providing reasonable accommodation to persons with vision impairment,
which can help them perform their roles effectively. This is when the Rights
of Persons with Disabilities Act (2016) clearly mandates provision of
accessible tools or assistance to make the physical and digital environment
accessible for PwDs.

Rajendra was always under pressure of losing his job, fearing that his low
productivity would become an issue with his peers and superiors. So, he
tried harder than everyone else, taking sighted assistance both inside and
outside the office.
Luckily in his latest job in Animal Department and Farming, a senior
recognized Rajendra's challenge and moved him to a more suited role of
guiding farmers via phone and in-person visits. The role involved
disseminating information and maintaining a daily record of callers or
visitors. For this, he took help from his wife and daughter every day, to
help him write and record data.

When he sought help from the Eyeway Helpdesk, our counselor recommended the
use of computers and Microsoft Office functions to increase efficiency. At
first, Rajendra was a bit hesitant, but through follow up calls, the
counselor convinced him stating how much time he could save, apart from
gaining the ability to work independently.

Taking step by step guidance from the Eyeway team, Rajendra downloaded a
screen reading software on his old computer and learnt the basics of MS Word
and Excel from the counselor. He was also suggested to join online workshop
for advanced computer training.

Today, Rajendra can seamlessly perform his job using a computer,
independently maintaining data records, writing letters, and reading hard
copies with the help of some smartphone accessible applications.

[AI] We still could use Outlook Express

2022-06-13 Thread Sandesh
This is specially for Shri Amiyo and Prof. Syanekar.

Yes, you heard it correct, we could still use Outlook Express.

On sayeverything mailing list, Mr. Rajpal listed steps for using Outlook, these
same steps could be used to make Outlook Express work as it has been doing for
these many years. I just try to simplify things.

As we all know, Google has stopped support for what it says as less secure apps
without 2 step verification from this month. to use Outlook Express or any mail
client, we need to enable 2-step verification.

On next list, we need to select the device like Android, Windows phone, Iphone,
Windows PC etc, here, we will obviously choose windows PC from the list.

Now, we will find generate password button, press enter on it.

The 16 character password will be on our screen, copy it and save the generated
password in notepad for future reference if we need it again.

I have used my same Gmail
account on 2 different PCs with the same App password created through steps
above.

We don't know what Google will do next to prevent even this, untill then, let's
continue with this utility most of us are very accustomed to.

Regards

Vande Mataram
