 them.
Buy any laptop as you would for a normal person according to your
 budget
and which matches the criterias you have mentioned.
In terms of Mack, Apple's default Voice Over screen-reader is very good
 and
 makes the PC highly accessible.
In-case of windows, You have microsoft Narrator but it is still
 improving.
You can use third party software like NVDA and JAWS which are more
 robust.
 Hope this helps.

[AI] Available transport modes from Nizamuddin Junction, Delhi to Gurgaon by trains and buss

2024-01-16 Thread faiyaz attar
Dear Access India team,
As the subject line suggests, I have pre-planned scheduled program at
Gurgaon. Since I do not have direct train from my location to Gurgaon,
will have to arrive at Delhi first, and, then change the
Transportation modes to reach Gurgaon. Following are my concerns. How
much time it take's to reach from Delhi to Gurgaon? any Train
spesifics platforms and train numbers?

Re: [AI] Inquiry Regarding Accessible Laptops for the Visually Impaired

2024-01-16 Thread Vaibhav Bhandari
Good Evening Sir,
In almost all laptops, sterrio speakers are available nowadays; though
it's not the same case with Microsoft Office. I haven't also seen any
laptop with screen size less than 14 inches and it must be kept in
mind that a 14 inch laptop would not have numb pad in case the person
does require that.
Regarding battery life, according to my experience, Most laptop
venders would say around 4-6 but it would depend on the way the laptop
is being used; for instance, high brightness would lead to low battery
life whereas low brightness would lead to the opposite. How much
battery life is the person looking for? Also, what about RAM and
Storage? Do both RAM and Storage or any one need to be expandable or
not?
I believe around the budget you have suggested, an I3 12th generation
might be possible if bought online. One final thing, is a 14 inch
laptop strictly necessary or would the person be agreeable to have a
15 inch one as well?

RE: [AI] in Looking to purchase a doorbell

2024-01-16 Thread prashant.rv
The doorbell suggested by Harendra is in response to other query raised on AI.

This Anchor remote door bell or similar item can be used as a locater.

If you have difficulty locating your building or house or office door, then you
can place the door bell outside the door in which you want to go in.

Note that the door bell is to be placed outside and not inside.

The small remote which comes with it can be carried by you in your pocket.

When you are coming to your house/office and you think that the door is close
then you can press button on the remote. The door bell will ring and you can
follow the sound to come to the door.

It works from 50 to 100 meters.

This kind of door bell is generally used by doctors or officers to call the
attendant outside their room. We are making a different use of the same device.

Regarding video or audio door bell, in general most models sold in the market
will be usable by the blind. Visitor will press the button outside the door.
Thescreen installed inside the house will ring. One can press a button
there and talk to the visitor.

I had suggested Amazon Blink doorbell for this kind of use. See my earlier
email for details.

will they also press a butten to ring and, then with that remote bell I will be
able to answer them.

I want a thing like, the visiter should ring the bell, then I should get a ring
from the bell. Then, I can answer it from there like a phone call. And, then I
can tell them to waite or other things then, I could come and open the door.

The doorbell comes with a remote. Just plug it in using the power switch,
and when you press the button from remote, the doorbell makes a sound.

Thanks & regards:-
Harendra

2024-01-16 Thread DR MD Muzamil Hussain
Blessings
Thank you for your prompt response but I already provided basic
information about screen readers to him. I came to know that he is now
looking for a specific laptop model that meets his requirements.

Noted on the budget constraint of 35K and the specific features
needed, including a small screen, robust battery life, stereo
speakers, and pre-installed Microsoft Office.
Thanks.
