Hello friends. Hope you all are doing well.
Friends I need a small help from you all. Actually, recently I decided to
purchase the jio air fibre broadband. But I need some more additional
feedbacks for purchasing this fibre broadband from the perspective of
visually impaired people. Because I am also a visually impaired person, and
I want to know that is it good to purchase the jio air fibre? Is it
accessible for the visually impaired people? Is the speed of internet of
the Geo air fibre is consistent? Also I heard that jio gives us e option of
live TV and even it provides us the set top box. So I want to know that is
this set top box accessible for us? Can we independently switch from one TV
channel to another TV channel in their live TV section? Can we use Google
TalkBack in their set top box? As a visually impaired person, as anyone
faced any issues in the jio air fibre?
Also, if you all have some more feedbacks about the jio air fibre then
please share with me in this group.
Before 2 months, I read the discussion about the jio air fibre in this
group but,I need the additional feedbacks from you all who purchased the
jio air fibre.
So I request you all that please provide me the feedbacks about jio air
fibre.

[AI] A pleasant surprise: It's not just shower gel, and no this is not off-topic for the blind!!

Hi friends,

 

A few weeks back, my wife bought some shower gel on Amazon. Seemed like an 
ordinary event and I thought nothing of it.

When the package arrived, my eldest son excitedly brought it to me. “Baba! 
Baba! Come check this out” he exclaimed as he put the bottle into my hands.

Not thinking much of it I asked “What is this?” without much examination of the 
bottle. “sShower gel” he said, still excited. “Feel the bottle”.

Somehow I still didn’t catch on, as I fingered lamely around the bottle’s 
edges. “Ok Nice”, I said. “Go pack this away now”.

“No! Feel the face of the bottle. Feel properly.” He insisted. I now knew 
something was up so with more alertness I carefully examined the face of the 
bottle.

Before I could even figure it out he exclaimed “Braille!” And he was right. Not 
just that, but both the front face and on the rear face had a whole lot of 
braille.

On the front face across the short side was written in short single lines as 
follows:

Fiama

Shower

Gel

 

On the opposite face, this time along the length of the bottle was written, 
again in beautiful braille letters along the length of the bottle this time:

Patchouli

And macadamia

 

It was uncontracted, no capitalization of letters, the dots felt somewhat faded 
on the plastic label, but still it was a pleasant surprise indeed. Coming to 
India I wasn’t sure I would ever see beautiful braille again, here in the 
village of Vrindavana.

 

Just for this fact I would like to keep buying this product, to simply say 
thank you for remembering us on the fringes of society, while most others see 
us as nothing more than disabled people that might at least be able to sing for 
some handout. We now bought 4 bottles in total for the moment, and every 
morning I can’t help running my fingers over the braille when I take some out 
to shower my body. It just feels so warmly familiar.

 

Just wanted to share this small yet heart-warming story of my own personal 
experience.

extend similar benefits to its Disabled employees, they asked us to provide
any documentary proof in case any other State Government/s are also
extending a similar 4 days additional Special Casual Leave to its employees.

We therefore request you to please confirm if State Governments in your
States are extending similar additional 4 days Special Casual Leaves to
their employees with disabilities and if so please share the relevant
Order.  This will help us take up with our State Government.
