 Dear Harish,
Actually I was diagnosed with RP around 10 years back at age of 24.
It happened at Apollo hospital in Delhi and I met some senior doctors at
Ganga Ram Hospital, Delhi, PGIMS Chandigarh and many others for second
opinion. It was very early phase of my marriage, pregnancy and career full
 of high emotional pressures.
They all detailed me at length about its causes, effects(both short term
 and
far going)and even how unfortunate I am.
But anybody hadn't bothered about even referring to any rehabilitation
 facilities.
I am actually having a very strong feeling that they themselves don't know
that what blinds are doing in India and round the globe in this age.
I want somebody to come forward so that rehabilitation can be made a
compulsory and inevitable part of diagnosis.
 Thanks,
 Sucharu

 Dear Sucharu

The number of acquired blindness is far more than the congenital blind. Now
amongst the acquired blind, its spread, is very varied and it iss spread
out in different phase of one's life.

The invervention in terms of rehabilitation usually has a large time
 intervening it.

To my understanding, your primary question, is there any support system
helping one during this vital stage.
Local NGO's should ideally filling up this requirement. Besides on a
national scale, there is the Helpdesk of NAB delhi and Eyeway providing
 this service Harish Kotian

 Hi Neeraj,

It is absolutely necessary for women to have an exclusive group. We
had a group of that kind in Retina India by name of Women of RI. I
publicised it on AI. However not many people joined that time. Let
us hope it succeeds this time. My best wishes to the team working on
 this.

 Hi Rejin,
Apologies for the delay in responding,. I was experiencing trouble with
twitter and couldn't set it straight which is why I didn't write.
Since my trouble is now fixed, here are my inputs.
I am not sure of the accessibility of the main site, but the mobile
 version
works well enough. However, it is tedious and only shows a certain number
 of
tweets at a time and if you are following lots of people, it is tiresome
 to
 find the tweets.
The most effective way to use twitter is by using the accessible client
called The Qube. Once you have created a twitter account for yourself,
 this
can be worked with. They have a recent update called theqube 0.7. this
however apparently works only on 32 bits systems. This is a free client
 and
when installed makes twitter a wholly wonderful experience.
You can interact with persons who interest you. You could choose people
 by
topic or name and take it from there. You can read more about The Qube on
 this:
 http://theqube.oire.org/17
in case you need further inputs, please feel free to write to me off the
list. The explanations can run into many pages and it might not interest
 others here.
