RE: [AI] a query regarding car driving

2024-01-01 Thread Dr. K. Muruganandan
Hi,
I think you don’t need to feel anxious about learning driving. In fact, you
should appreciate your wife’s willingness to learn driving. If she’s able to
cook well, she can very well learn driving. Its just a skill like cooking and
reading.
Literacy level should not be a problem since sign boards and signals don’t
require even reading skill.
Taking others suggestion,
1. Enroll your wife in a good driving school,
2. Purchase a preferably second-hand but good-condition car,
3. And get it registered it in your name!

Subject: [AI] a query regarding car driving

Hi friends,

First of all I wish you a happy and prosperous new year.

Friends, I am back with another query regarding learning car driving.

But before that let me give my brief about me however many members are already
know me.

Ok let me brief about my self.
I am staying in Kolkata and working as deputy manager in SBI.

My father used to drop and pick from my office, we use to commute by motorbike
daily.

On 4th of July I.e. 2023, we met with an accident nearby my office in which my
father had a fracture above the elbow and have to go under surgery.

After that incidence, I am managing my own, but my wife wants to learn driving.

But the problem is that my wife is not that much literate and currently we have
no car till date, however I will purchase in future as I am about to shift to
my new flat with in 6-7 months.

So friends I would like to know that,

1 should I allow her to learn  driving? As I am not sure about her capabilities
as because she did not have that much exposure regarding vehicles.
2 what would be your opinions, should I go with her decision because if we look
in our society, almost the drivers are either semi literate or ill-literate.

3 as I am the only bread earner, it is not possible to higher full time driver.

Does any one in this list having same or similar situation? If yes what are the
remedies you guise have taken?

Any suggestion or comments are welcome.
Regards
Gufran.

RE: [AI] Smart microwave ovens or instant pot

2022-10-13 Thread Dr. K. Muruganandan
Hi, I don’t think alexa or wi-fi supported ovens are available in the Indian market yet. The amazon basics available here are mostly imports from China and not of standard-brands’ quality. Its rather advisable to go for standard brands like LG or IFB. I bought LG charcoal oven 28  litters, with tactile buttons. As said earlier, it’s the matter of pinning down at the right timing for cooking each dish. I took sighted support for learning the buttons and finding the working of rotating nob in setting time. Then I’m able to operate the  oven through guesswork calculations. But we the blind should be extra careful in handling the machine and food. You can cook rice or any other item for that matter, if  use the oven-friendly vessels and know the correct timing. Don’t know about instant-pot. But heating in the oven is maximum 900 by default, can reduce down to 120.  HTH.Sent from Mail for Windows From: Amar JainSent: 13 October 2022 18:40To: accessindia@accessindia.org.inCc: Pranav LalSubject: Re: [AI] Smart microwave ovens or instant pot So Pranav if I got this right, then Amazon Basics has Alexa integration. Is Solo good enough for cooking, heating and reheating? Does a solo microwave come with maximum temperature protection? For instance LG doesn't have it. Is there any downside to this? And can rice be cooked as well in solo microwave oven? 2. Between a microwave oven and an instant pot, what would you recommend and why? 3. Are you aware of any smart microwave ovens having wifi or Alexa integration? Regards,Amar Jain-- Disclaimer:1.
