Hi Cauvery,

 

In my opinion, in these scenarios we are expecting sighted person to help us 
but we ourself do not want to help our other VI fellow as it becomes our duty 
as well to help other VI and take care each other.

 

For example, the scenario which you shared, if one sighted person is holding 
one VI person and other two are behind each other than its frontline person 
duty to observe sighted person and simultaneously guide person behind him/her. 
This way we can manage our speed and avoid accidents.

 

I hope I was able to understand the situation well and put my proper suggestion.

I felt it is undignified  because the last ones in this train feel like they 
are being dragged. The speed is not Proportionate, further more, as they stop 
or slow down there is constant stepping over each other's feats. Additionally, 
whenever there is a turn the last ones bump in the doors or walls or railings. 
In my opinion this is equally undignified as when one  catches the white stick 
and starts dragging the VI.

Question of dignity? There were three visually impaired students and one

[AI] Urgent Help need on MS forms

Hi All,

 

Hope my mail finds you well!

 

I  have a  query regarding MS form. After creating the form when going to
check responses in Excel format, first the icon doesn't announce the option
"Download copy of excel", but when I press "insert+tab

It announce but it doesn't get downloaded after pressing enter on it. I
tried sighted person help and when they click on it using mouse, they are
able to download it.

 

Could someone please  help with solution here. Earlier, it was working fine,
but recently I have started facing this issue.

 

I'm using NVDA with office 365.

Greetings for the day!

 

I am not sure if my mails are reaching to your inbox or spam folder as I am
not receiving any response to my queries. In recent time I send couple of
emails with different query but did not get any response so I wasn't sure if
it is reaching to everyone or not.

I'm also facing this issue sometime but I realised it mostly happens when 
screen is not maximised, so I first maximize it by pressing 'Alt+space+X' and 
it works. You may also try this.

Hi All,

 

Can someone please suggest me the Whatsapp group related to mobile
technology for android users, where we can discuss the issue related to
android phone.

 

In addition, I have a query that when I am trying to fill any google form
through my mobile, it asks me to sign in first instead. I am not sure if I
should put my email id as earlier it directly used to open the google form
and even if I put my email id it doesn't recognize it.

 

I  tried to copy and paste the link in google chrome but the thing is I use
my yahoo id instead of gmail whenever submitting any google form and its not
showing option to fill yahoo id to me in place of email id question in the
form. Please suggest.

It is advisable to  not to wait for any call from hospital and visit there 
along with all your documents.

They may ask you to get checked your eyes again and once you submit your 
documents, you will probably receive your UDID card within 15 days.

What I hate most about PDF and how it gets displayed in virtual cursor or 
browse mode, is that most often documents are not formatted properly for 
accessibility. In those cases, reading cells of a table using table reading 
commands will read an entire column or row when focused on a single cell. This 
makes understanding a table almost impossible.

The only way around this I have found is to change reading options in PDF 
Reader to raw print screen. It takes away all the form controls, tables and 
other HTML elements, but this way it is easier to read using normal text 
navigation through table data and make sense of what’s going on.

Sure, I can help with these Excel issues you are experiencing.

For filtering the data, Excel may not announce that a field has a drop-down 
list when you navigate to the column. However, you can still access the 
drop-down list by pressing Alt+Down arrow key once you are in the column. This 
should open the filter drop-down list and allow you to filter the data as 
needed.

To use the "TRUE or FALSE" formula in Excel, you can follow these steps:

Select the cell where you want to enter the formula.
Type the equals sign (=) to start entering the formula.
Type "TRUE" or "FALSE" (without the quotes) to enter the desired value.
Press Enter to confirm the formula and complete the entry.
When you move left or right to select the cell, NVDA may not announce the 
cell's content or position. To verify the selected column, you can try to 
navigate to the column's header or press the arrow keys to move to the next or 
previous cell to confirm the selection. rather  you may  mention the cell 
address whichever is required.

To filter on a column with dates in Excel, follow these steps:
Select the column containing the dates you want to filter.
Press Alt+H then F then S then F to open the filter dialog box.
In the filter dialog box, select the drop-down list for the column containing 
dates and choose the date filtering option you want to use.
Select the date range or specific dates you want to filter.
Press Alt+A to apply the filter and close the dialog box.

when I go to applied column, it does not announce that "this field has drop
down"
2.  When I want to use "True or False" formula and I press "=", it says
nothing else than edit and also when I move right or left to select the cell
it does not announce anything so how can I verify that which column is
selected.
3.  How we can filter on column with dates if someone please can help me
step by step.

Actually I had a very bad experience with moto G  phone when I was sighted and 
using without talkback as it used to hang a lot and  service was also very bad, 
so I will have to think twice  to go for moto G  again as now will be using 
talkback so have to be more careful.

As subject line suggest, I want to know how Being visually impaired we can
play chess. Actually I'm a late blind person and last year only lost my
eyesight and when I was sighted, I used to play chess but now I do not know
that without seeing how I can play as to play chess is my hobby and I miss
playing chess after loosing my vision.

 

It would be great if I can get connected to anyone who can guide me how we
can play chess like all sighted people play.

To delete the folder, first go to particular folder which you want to delete 
then press shift+F6, the triviu dialogue box will appear then keep your focus 
on folder which needs to be deleted carefully so you do not end up with 
deleting wrong folder and press delete key. It will ask you again if you want 
to send this folder to delete items  yes or no.

Hello All,

I'm also facing the same issue from past couple of days but when I'm switching 
pc cursor off and on once, it starts reading the chat name to some extent but 
not in exact way as it was reading previously.

Along with chat name, its also reading the recent message of that chat line by 
line by pressing arrow key which is irritating as takes lots of time to move to 
next chat.

Hi Harshit,

I tried using OCR but getting same result means it first reads all components 
together and then  reading all the amounts in one go.

After opening the file with OCR I'm using simple reading command means using 
arrow keys. Do I need to use any other command. Please suggest.

Hi,
For reading my payslip, I do not open it in any pdf reader or any browser. I 
just open the folder containing the payslip. Then select the payslip and then 
press Insert+spacebar, then letter O followed by letter F. It starts OCR with 
JAWS. The OCR results viewer window contains data in tabular format.

I'm trying to read pay  slip in PDF format through Adobe acrobat reader  and
tried using OCR as well but what it does is, it reads all  the salary

Thanks Kanchan!

Actually someone told me that after applying online for UDID I have to visit to 
CMO office with disability certificate along with the enrolment number and the 
Disability certificate will be submitted there and it will be replaced by UDID 
card which I will receive later.

That’s why I was getting confused if I submit the certificate then I will not 
have any other proof in case I do not receive UDID because of any reason as I 
see in this group many people facing challenges in receiving UDID card.

raise a joint voice and ask for clarificaition.
My intention is not to fight or argue or disobey any rule, but it should be
